kinda what I was wondering,
a little bit more damage when you got the hood open?
Yeah, the core support is damaged and there is more equipment mounted up there than I had realized.

Deep in the cleaning bin found a factory towel. Came as a set I found in the trunk of a 90 LS400 I bought at action for the engine at least a couple decades ago. Engine only had 60k miles on it. Went into a 92 pickup. Was a fun rig.

flew to Salt Lake City, got a ride to the dealer and drove this guy home on Monday.
2016, atomic silver, Burgandy interior
put 540 miles on it coming home
stopped by Cruiser Outfitters for some parts on the way home, then parked in the garage next to the 2005

Busting through the snow drifts like a Toyota tank does!

Not actually Toyota related, but...
I was on the way to do a bit of this:

Then I got the work truck and the trailer with the SXS on it stuck. Of course, I was by myself. I unloaded the SXS off the trailer, unhooked the trailer, got it out of the way, and then tried to winch the truck out. I broke the winch line:

I ended up using a kinetic rope to move the truck enough that I could rock it out. It would have been really nice to have someone else along to be in the truck while I was pulling with the kinetic rope. That was a bit sketchy.

Lessons learned:
1) It's probably not best-practice to go to remote radio tower sites alone.
2) A backpack full of tools sitting on the driver's seat with the seatbelt buckled will prevent the auto-park safety feature from activating.
3) I probably need to add a pulley to the recovery tools in the SXS.
4) The work truck doesn't have enough tire for busting through snowed-in, untracked fire roads with a load behind it. Or, likely, without a load behind it.

Mounted a new gun wrack so I’ll have a place to hang my musket. Added this nifty amazon Millie panel cargo net divider to hide all the accessories behind the rear seats.

Drilled a bunch of holes in my dash for all the ram mounts. Now I have a convenient place to hold my zyn. Still trying to sort out where to mount my Jesus portrait.

Sewed a bunch of new patches on my lucky jacket.

... Working on getting my light duty support trailer back on the trail. Bought before separating from the usaf in Great Falls. I wont get into the full story but in short, wooden box started to rot. Parked for 4yrs. Finally had drop-in aluminum box build. Lights and Etracks are mounted. Needs new leaf springs, shocks of some sort, max coupler and fenders. A few other things. Maybe a sub 100lb rtt (?)...

Not quite Toyota yet but it will be. Investigating my junkyard 2.0TDI engine prior to swapping it into the Prado in place of the current 1.9TDI. Needs a new cam and a set of lifters, pistons and valves all check out. Will be putting in some parts orders soon so I can start reassembling.

How terrible is a Flowmaster 40 series delta flow going to sound on my 470? Better to go with the 50 series delta flow? I don't want to be able to hear it idling from inside the house.

I use a Flowmaster FX, and I think the sound is perfect. Can't hear it cruising down the highway, very slight rumble at idle, and sounds good when you get on the throttle. I had a guy chop the rear muffler and add the flow master with v band clamps, sort of in the middle of the vehicle. He did some nice Tig welds, and I was very happy with the work, and it helped with clearance in the rear since mine was pretty mangled - it cost me $200.
