bummer, I was wondering about that,
no LX parts, just 100 series stuff at the moment, all but a hood.

did they give an estimate? or just tell you it's totalled?
did the airbag go off?
I haven't heard the numbers yet. I should find out later this week.
The airbag did not go off. I haven't investigated any damage to the core support yet. I should probably do that. The crease in the hood does not give me good feelings.

have they talked any $$'s yet on payout?
have you gotten any estimates yet?

Hopefully tomorrow. I'm supposed to meet with them. Anyone have any local comps?

Been enjoying the snowy trails

These 38x15.5x15 Nitto Mud Grapplers are amazing in the deep fluff.

That’s some serious red-neck fun right there.

I always thought a FJ40 with lockers would make for an epic tracked vehicle.

They are lots of work. High maintenance. All the PIA things. But they are just awesome for the sole reason of ridiculousness. Probably only use it one or two times this winter. But getting it ready for then. Plus Lexus on tracks is just a good idea in my mind.
don't remember if i've told this story before but when i was a kid growing up in iowa in the late 60's early 70's we had a couple farmer neighbors that kinda took me under their wing. winter time i'd get up early and go start on chores feeding cows and pigs so the day's adventure could get started. coon hunting at night and fox hunting during the day is how all kids should grow up. anyway 1 of the guys was always thinking up projects to build. back then you could buy a used car or pu for 75 dollars or less, anyway since 4wd vehicles were scarce and expensive and bruce got tired of digging out of the snow he decided to make an orv. i don't remember what he started with but they built wheel spacers which were probably just pipes with lug bolts welded on 1 end and other end threaded then bolted the wheels and tires on, remember they were farmers lol. i had no idea what he was thinking but soon found out. then they went out back and found a couple trashed rear tires , cut most of the sidewall out then tried to figure out how to mount them. as i recall they slid the tire over the rear then hooked a tractor to the tread and used another tractor to pull and stretch the donor tire ove the front tire. of course it didn't go as planned and it took several revisions to get the extended wheel to stand up to what they were doing. of course when it was warm enough we were runnin coon hounds at night and shootin foxes during the day. wasn't much else to do back then. finally got them mounted and then it came time to figure out how to steer the darn thing. ended up connecting the front and rear brakes together and used levers like on a cat . i remember it didn't work well but would eventually turn you. the first run was about how you'd think and a tire track went flying off and darn near wrecked the whole thing. got it pulled into the shop and drinking more coffee they beefed things up and bruce built a bracket so he could strap the steering wheel so it wouldn't turn. evidently things were happening fast on the first drive and instinct took over and he turned the steering wheel and suddenly things went down hill much faster. finally got it working kinda decent and we spent the rest of the winter chasin foxes and coyotes all over central iowa with that thing. i wonder if it is still parked in the boneyard behind that old shop. to say it was dangerous is an understatement but that's how things were growing up. after all this jabbering i think i'd rather be riding in Jonathans Lexus, i bet his heater works.

so i've got my 02 taco for sale, most of you guys probably have heard about the issues with the frames of that gen having rust issues. part of my yearly maintenance is spraying the frame so it doesn't have said rust issues with either fluid film or woolwax. I'm pretty sure i lost a sale due to the frame looking ugly. i could go on but i'd start laughing again. so my question is should i pressure wash all the preventative fluid off to sell it or should i leave it on and hopefully a more knowledgeable person comes to look at it.

You'll open your pool to more buyers if you pressure wash it.

Is the rear seat in those large enough to mount a rear-facing car seat without having to push the front seat into the dash? I'm still waiting on the insurance company to figure out what they are going to do about my Lexus. I've missed having a truck, but I really liked my 470.

Seth, It doesn't look like it to me but honestly i have no idea. i'm from the time when our kids sat wherever they got the best view. as far as the frame I don't know if i have it in me to wash it. would be kinda like puttin a seasoned cast iron skillet in the dish washer

My opinion doesn't mean much, and it doesn't come from any substance, but oh boy, I say its tough to pressure wash off that fluid when we know how important it is.
2 cents at best.

*Shudders* Yeah, I agree, but people are dumb.

@pigmony Could be a good parts rig. If you go that route...
I got the hood open and I've decided to let them total it and start over.

@pigmony any update on your LX?
Just waiting on the insurance company. And waiting... And waiting...
