Got motor mounts built and the new engine installed in its final location. Not as much progress this week as I had hoped but it has turned out better than I expected so far.

Ever since i was working on a hub with the front axle only supported by a hydraulic jack and me with my legs splayed wide open when the seal decided it was time to fail i have been much more concerned about the boys along with other body parts while working under a vehicle. while there is still plenty of sketch that occurs out here and i do admire the stack job but
I hear ya. It’s on Jack stands on the frame. The two stacked blocks are secondary backup and the bottle jack is triple backup. I don’t like the idea of being squished by my fat LX. And I distrust Jack stands.

Just installed the new Gamiviti 80 series dash mount. This thing went in super easily, and that’s coming from someone that can make any project take double time.

No drilling required. I did have to shift my top row switches over one hole to the right. Gamiviti mount includes a new switch hole so not a big deal.

It’s very solid, no doubt will easily handle iPad mini or even a larger tablet, true test in Moab coming soon. Feels a lot sturdier than the ‘useless cubby’ ram mount thingy.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on the message boards. Kids and a new job have taken up most of my time lately. But a few months ago after noticing another head gasket leak on the 4runner I found a lower mileage motor in good shape and swapped out my old one. Had an issue I’ve never seen before during the swap. The motor sat without a radiator still in the truck do about a year and at some point a critter stashed some almonds in the cooling system. After having a cooling issue the first time I started it I found these behind the thermostat. There also may be a new Toyota being added to the fleet soon and the 4runner might be up for sale soon.
