Paid $975 for labor at an indy shop.

Parts I got through the local dealership were $483 with club discount.

That included the Toyota FIPG, spark plugs, heater t/hose combo, 2 heaters hoses at bell housing (oil cooler?), union pipe Gaskets, intake gaskets, pcv and grommet, 2 gal coolant.

They installed everything but forgot to use Toyota FIPG 😢

Dont know the specifics. He said it was his preferred go to and opened a new tube. Was a mini 4-6oz caulk tube with scaled down standard caulk gun style applicator.

Said he didn’t like first attempt so redid it all cause he doesn’t ever want to do it again ha. Let it cure 24hrs before adding coolant and pressure testing.
Then what did they use?

Was just quoted about $1450 at local indy shop
Reviving this thread to ask if you could share which indy shop? I'm also in Atlanta.

Also, has anyone heard of or had experience with this seal from J2Hundy Outfitters? Thoughts?

I can’t speak for the shop, but I too am curious about that gasket! It reads like what you’d want to be OEM!

I’m wondering if this is a good aftermarket solution like the diff gaskets for some domestic trucks? No diff drain plugs on fOrD f150s from the factory.

Just paid $1700 plus tax at Treasure Coast Lexus in Fort Pierce, FL. Included a loaner for the 5 days they kept my GX and one year warranty on parts and labor. Car has 155k mi. Leak started at about 120k mi but got progressively worse.

Lol, just got quoted $2280 plus tax for Coolant Valley Pan Reseal in Cleveland TN. I’m not sure what they are doing. I will be shopping around.

We charge around 1300 to 1500. But that's if things aren't rusty on the air injection manifold area. It can be a slippery slope once we get in there and find other things.

After getting the $2300 quote at one independent shop, I ended up going to a Toyota off road shop (Tandem Automotive) in DFW. There it was $1823 out the door. Nice guys and seems like they did a great job.

Local dealer to me charged $1450 out the door on the repair. That was less than the book rate.

If you can I think it helps to find a shop that does a lot of tundra/sequoia work as they’ll know the job and have it timed out. My dealer has ~20 bays… no joke.

Today I was quoted $1600- $4000 at an independent shop, $2000 and $2500 at two other independents, and $3200 at a Lexus dealer. Chattanooga area. 🤦‍♂️

Finally a decent quote. Local Toyota dealer $1315 tax and all. How are quotes $2500 different within 25 miles?

Toyota dealer service and parts departments have the freedom to charge whatever market conditions will bear. 25 miles in another direction/zip code might be household net worth of over $1million. That market will bear more for service and parts costs.

Simple capitalism at work.

Here is my estimate for radiator and valley plate from a few years ago (2020?)

lol, local dealer came back once vehicle was in shop and said they screwed up estimate! Instead on $1300 OTD, now $2300! I said don’t touch it and picked it up!
