A rebuild takes like 4 hours...or 2 days if you're like me, but I would fill it with grease and top off the diff and call it good and worry about it after gsmtr...you're not gonna wheel that hard out there to bust a hub

I will !!!

I got hooked up with a hood from Benny C that was blue. I liked the blacked out look anyway and knew I would never match the faded paint so I painted it with the same rustoleum spray can Berliner I used to cover the rust I fixed around the windows and blacked out the grill and bumpers. Eventually I'll be continuing the line that stops by the mirrors and the top of the fenders will match. I like having the section by the windows black. Looks like how Toyota did the 80's

Took her to the annual NCFJCruiser event in Raleigh. Met a ton of new people and had a great time.

And looking good, ready to roll over something now!:)

Yes sir.The 40 will be my primary wheeler but the 62 will get some action to.My boys are 2 and 4 so the 62 may become a dd and camping with the boys truck. I have a set of 2" springs and some longer shackels for her to. With 33's and the lift I'm sure some URE trips will be in her future also.

Had a big day at the garage Saturday.
1. Swapped out the steering rack (crap, only 35K on the last one!)

2. Added new reinforcing jam nuts on the tie rods. These were "moonshine engineered" by me and LT* while we were at the Round Up one night. One of the guys from Texas (Nick) has an FJC built by Metal Tech with the 3 1/2" long travel front suspension. He kept bending inner tie rods at the threaded section, just outside the jam nut. So this jam nut sleeves the threaded section a bit more. I've never bent a tie rod in that manner, but thought I'd give these a spin. *copyright pending :D

3. Then rebuilt my front UCA's...pulled everything off the truck, washed scrubbed off any crud on the bushings with a scotch pad, pressed on new FK 1" SS uniballs, installed new zerks and repacked the poly bushings.

4. Changed the oil/filter.

Scott Smith and I just drove across 7 states and 1381 miles in 21 hours. The GX was badass all the way across. Looking forward to the bonus day in Moab tomorrow.

Installed cheap seat covers and cb. Not sure if cb is working correctly though. No sound even when turning squelch up and down??

Gabe, Do you have a SWR meter?

LOL now that is funny! I don't think he'd be seeking advice here if he had one or knew how to use it :hillbilly:

no and chuck is right. I am pretty sure cb is bad. Brother in law has like 4 laying around so gonna get one of those and see what happens. Antenna and antenna wire are brand friggin new.

no and chuck is right..

Oh that hurts... hurts bad! I have never been confused for chuck before. New low for sure

Gabe I might have to extract some kind of revenge at GSMTR for this travesty :hillbilly:

Meh as long as i get to gsmtr i will be happy. Still need to swap the front springs and bushings!

Just sagging. I did not swap them when i swapped the rear due to time and no bushings. I bought bushings from sor but now need the time for the swap. The springs i am going to swap in are in better shape and already have aal installed. I can definitely wheel as is but.....
