Edit: Since I was rambling, here is the point: I don't think you need to cut off the screw tips for everyone. It won't be necessary for everyone and for those who do want to do that it only takes a few minutes (even with a hacksaw like I used.)

For me, I was mostly afraid that if I tried to drill the pilot hole into the upper/leather half I would go through so this took my concerns away. I am not sure there is any padding on mine, just a plastic tray with the leather wrapped over the top and stapled to it, so by cutting off the tips I didn't have to worry about that at all. If you have enough (any) padding then going through both halves of the lid and stopping before the leather is workable and it should be OK to keep them long. The more comments I see the more it keeps sounding like there are just too many variations of these consoles to design one thing that works for them all. Plus there are so many different mounting locations that the installer just needs to take the time to make sure it works with where they are installing them.

On Saturday I drove down a bumpy gravel road to seat the springs , and found this.

Today I drove up a mountain pass road, then hiked in a ways for these.

Pretty good weekend. BTW, the new suspension rocks. Feels like a new rig.

What are those? Some sort of mushroom I guess? They don't look like the ones I used to pick.

exactly, I don't see Psilocybe Baeocystis, Psilocybe Stuntzii or Psilocybe Cyanescens anywhere in there. Sure you got the right ones? :flipoff2:
Whoa. careful with those!

@Dazrin Since it seems to be a more common concern than expected, I'm now going to grind off the points of all of the snap screws by default. This is the 3rd instance I know of so "screw it" HA!
I actually test-fit mine and the screw tips do barely poke into the leather if you really press on the cushion. I added a couple of little washers under the snaps.

Gave the cruiser a bath, changed the handbrake thanks to it's sudden disintegration last week, and started swapping toggle switches to rockers :D

Put the tires from my 55 on it while my 33's got swapped for 35's. Might keep them on for a while for the lolz. On a side note, a stock height 55 looks awesome with 33's!
