I trimmed the flange on the battery boxes so all I have to do is unbolt the fan to get the shroud out. :meh:

Buddies radiator, tcase Rear bearing, seal and speedo o-ring. Shout out to @alvarorb for saving the day with the seal after my [former] go to parts guy left me hanging with a bearing and no seal. Gotta admit, after spending a few grand I expected more than "I'm only human" from him :meh:

Notice my fancy bailing wire plate removal sst. (The guy that said he did it with "one finger and a piece of bent wire" is full of $&@T! Thought myself a genius when I figured the three bolts that hold the little pointless flimsy metal shield onto the rearmost surface of the tcase have the same thread as the plate that resides under the vc. Then wrapped the bailing wire around those three bolts and yanked it right out!

Then went straight out and enjoyed the rigs!View attachment 1053277

Slick Rock?

What model Engel fridge do you have, and can you open the lid without sliding it out or does it hit the ceiling?

I honestly don't recall which model it is. I would have to go look it up.

I love the fridge though. Turn the dial past 2.5 and it turns into a freezer. I have the slide as low as possible and i can open the lid inside and it will touch the roof, but i can get the top completely open. So i like that.

I have about $10 in wood and $30 in slides for that and it works great.

A little more 3 link progress

I just love how you guys out west and SW can work on your pretty metal stuff and it remains metal. If i had my truck sitting like that around here, everything would start to get that nice, orange/red rust color growing on it in just a day or two.

I trimmed my rear fenders back in August and they're still bare steel. Just now getting a nice orange haze to it :flipoff2:

The flip side for metal out west, in the summer you cant touch it without getting burned:(

kind of off track but when i went to the rubicon and to wheel hole in the rock, the steel scars on my sliders and skids were art!! They lasted for weeks... about the time i pulled into NC, the next day when i walked out to finish emptying out the truck, they were all orange!!

tempted to start ih8rust.com for central and northeasterners. I'm totally neurotic about it, frequently put coating under my Albuquerque-raised 80

jealous of the Southwest and all the great photos. enjoy!
