Finally wired up the winch this past weekend...

First, had to make the relay box water tight, mount it behind the ARB bumber and use water tight connectors so I could remove the bumper if needed. Also wired the winch to the antenna "up / down" switch in the cabin since I deleted the motorized antenna a while ago:

Also finished the dual battery setup using the Blue Seas ACR and switch. Wanted to build my own washer bottle relo bracket and I think it worked out well.

I finally installed a Kenwood stereo ( a year without tunes....) the Infinity 6 1/2's fit well into both row of doors with a bit of trimming and clear the dash up front - and they sound really good.....!! just ordered up the matching sub to mount on the LCP bracket in the rear ( powered by a Kenwood 5 channel)

also mounted up the LP6's from Baja Design on the ARB - holy crap are they bright !! enough so that I'm going to remove the bar on the rack and replace the valance with a non-cutout version that Patrick was kind enough to send.... will be putting the Valance and bar in the classifieds if anyone wants to go the other direction on their Bowfin rack...

I also installed an inverter under the passenger seat after removing the rear heater.... need to trim the tabs to get it to sit right,

Im not digging the inverter install again fire gives no warning, that thing needs air circulation brother.

Agree it's not optimal - but likely it'll be lightly used.... I had planned to mount it on the LCP bracket as I did on my old 80...

if I find it's getting used more I'll likely move it back further in the truck....

Had the last meal.

5,047.88 miles. Almost 4 weeks. More fun than I deserve. And as a decadent American, lots of gallons of gas without a care of mpg.

Then parked her... I’ll be back.

Happy 4th of July!

Spent some time doing a front axle rebuild and caliper rebuild. Posting some photos to remind other mudders of some of their first initiations into land cruiser maintenance :)

Changed the oil while I was at it. Thanks Onur, your excellent services will be missed, but just so you know they will still continue to bring a smile to my face each time I use a new crush washer on the diff plugs or oil drain or pretty much any time I do any work on the land cruiser for some time to come :).

Well not a weekend, but I'm on vacation, so close enough. Spent 3 days at the BCOR2019 in Whistler in the rain; splurged and bought an Oztrail awning from Kakadu there.

What is that freaky thing hangin off your rear swing out?

So I got that baby from a neighbor many years ago. It’s creepy as hell and it goes on the back of the LC every time I take it on a trip. It gets a lot of looks in the freeway!

Well crap.

I'm really regretting not making time to get the last of my maintenance/mod punch list done a month or more ago. It is hot!

All I have left is:
New tie rods/steering links
Replace all brake soft lines
Make a fridge drawer slide
Oil Change/Grease/Bolt check

I really can't whine as I have three weeks to finish this tiny list and it has cooled off to 105˚. Today I think I'll whip up a fugly but functional fridge slide since I can do that in the shade.

This is prepping for the last family camping trip before my eldest heads off to college. <sniff-sniff>
Yeah, yeah I know there will be more but I'm a sentimental fool.
