Picked up some new digs for beach camping and test fitted my Exped Megamat Duo. It's a squeeze but inflates on its own, topped off with compressor it is firmest, most comfortable setup. Also picked up a North Face double wide sleeping bag. Now if only the :princess: liked camping on the beach..

Haha. Well, I take what I can get. I wanted a white or sage cruiser, found a mint condition burgundy with no rust. I've learned to love it, and the two person mat only comes in red, so.. burgundy strikes again!

Are you going to have the drapes match the carpet in the LC?

Is your wife a redhead?

(I could have asked those questions in a different order, but I didn't want to appear crass........today.)

Did you remove the back seats for that?

@nigelsiam yes I removed the 3rd row, but still have the 2nd row in. I have a set of rear drawers (excellent work by @scrowley) and only need to fold the 2nd row halfway, top folded down, but not whole seat folded forward. They line up pretty well, just a mild slope towards the front.

@BILT4ME the only way to go at this point. Is red shag carpet available, extra thick? ; ) My girlfriend is a brunette, but at this rate a redhead can't be far off

(about carpet / sleeping setup so still tech)

To fix that slope, just lay a 1 foot 2x4 on the carpet under the seat latch assembly protrusion on each seat. That will level the 2nd row seats out.

Thank you @Dissent , I'll give that a try.

Btw I'm close to ordering a rear Harrop elocker - should we try a group buy?

Very welcome. I'm about $1500 shy of funds for my Harrop, won't be for awhile, maybe next year.

Bro, that wrap looks amazing. How's the process? Im interested in doing that for my entire fleet of vehicles.

I'm down in COS if you want to practice on my rig first.

It really isn't too bad to do. The fender is only a so-so job but it still looks better than aging paint I suppose. If I actually gave it some time, it would go reasonably quick, like long intense weekend quick. I will try to make progress directly and write up a post about it. Main thoughts are: watch YouTube videos about it, get the paint clean with wax remover, and polish the old paint with compound or at least a clay bar job to get worn/oxidized stuff off. I bought 3m stuff because it is supposed to remove without residue for 5 years. It was under $500 for more than enough wrap and some basic tools from Amazon. Here's a link to the place the wrap came from. Nice service.

Don't listen to those naysayers :flipoff2:, that red 80 looks sweet! And @BILT4ME , I truly "laughed out loud " on that one (drapes-redhead).

Seriously though, I'm liking the sound of the mattress, does it have any thermal properties as far as keeping you warm? The firm mattress idea would be great.
My back is a total wuss.

Thank you @dogfishlake , my truck and I appreciate it, esp since burgundy gets very little love on 'mud. I'm a big fan of your rig for the record.

Regarding the mattress, here is one of the reviews (of many) that swayed me. It's a pricey mattress, but the firmness, warmth, etc. are excellent, and I don't think they're matched. Of course the one in the link is green, but according to my research that's now only available in Canada..

I also have the Thermarest Neo Air Dream, a winner of many best lists, but it's narrower, doesn't seem to get as firm, and I really wanted to sleep like I'm in a big bed.

In addition to the Exped mattress I picked up this wide North Face sleeping bag at the REI Labor Day Sale:

After getting as much as I could in getting swing out kits ready to ship I went to making more permanent mounts for my rear 18"x48" shelf. It's been ziptied to the grab handles with like 20 on each side, but I finally got sick of it wiggling around. Now it's rock solid and I can actually hold onto it and slide back onto the drawers with ease when I'm sleeping back there.View attachment 1534312

I also took a couple pictures of it just because the lighting was good

Oh and finally took the hi lift off the front. I may try to mount it to a swing out, but the front bumper is so easy.
