Did the ziptie repair for my side mirror. Yesterday I did some attempts to mitigate some of my water leaks, put some sealant around the glass side of the windshield. I also removed the cowl thingie and cleaned up under that. Tomorrow, Kirkwood!

:bounce:

Put some pioneer 6.5s in the front doors, what a difference! Can't wait to get the rears in. I also updated my poser shots I took when I first got my 80 just over a year a go :)

Still haven't removed those stupid stickers lol

It's because you were going to the Orange store. Lowe's is the official home improvement store of Land Cruisers.

Blue is geographically undesirable. :(

Orange = 2 miles + no fwy.

Blue = 19 miles + the Bay Bridge and toll / 880 / 80 and 101 + one maybe two sideshows and or freeway shootings or protests = so min. that's 1.5 hrs and $38 in gas. Max it's a like seven day round trip.

That said, it's almost worth it!

waiting around for my rear bearings to show up. (5 days late thanks to storms last week).

Driving over to home dopey to pick up a new splitting maul, smelled an "extreme" hot burny oil smell....thought "oh &$fi!"

Pulled over, sniff test, was def me. Popped the hood...winced....smell was a lot stronger...oh %$^%...Looked underneath, no oil dripping....looked up top...D'oh, lots of little dribbles...My dang oil cap was off...no idea how that happened, but was nestled over by the dizzy, must have spaced it. Negative 1 banana fix.
That's a carton ;)

The 93 got a bath at the car wash. The sprinklers were occupied on the 92.

I missed the 333333 Saturday when I was running all over town for my daughter's show choir. I guess I'll just have to remember 444444...

Also, jacked up the 93 and checked for play in the front. 12-6 play is there. Not much, maybe 1/8". Same on both wheels. I needed to take the wheels off and check the rotors too because I heard a grinding noise when stopping yesterday. Could that be the wheel bearings? Or most likely brake/rotor related. Only notice it when stopping. As only the initial stopping from about 15mph to 5mph. If I let off the brakes then reapply, no grinding.

Drove out with a great mixed group to Richland Road area...

Finally got around to my passenger side birf refresh. This one was leaking much worse than the driver's side that I did a while back. The Exxon Valdez was probably an easier cleaning job. On to the cats and some speaker upgrades next.

I celebrated my first anniversary with my first Land Cruiser over the weekend, capping off a great +/-11,000 miles by giving her a new starter from @beno . Lots of water crossings at the STLCA New Year's Ride did a number on the old one.

...reinstalled the rear sway bar with @landtank brackets (with some guidance from @NLXTACY ) and all new bushings. Sounds simple I complicated it with two snapped bolt extractors, an unsuccessful smoke wrench, and a trip to Home Depot for an M8-1.25 tap when I gave up and moved one of the axle brackets.

And last but not least, toned down the brightness of my house battery voltmeter with some overpriced little sheets of window tint. (This was the test fit. Still need to cut a clean piece and install it without finger prints and dust.)

Good news is it was just mess and a bad smell, happened to me about 25 years ago in another land. Oil change guy left the cap off and a few miles down the road smoke and fire started whipping out from under the hood of my shiny Opel Manta that I though was the s*** at the time. The fire self extinguished as soon as I stopped more or less but it was a helluva mess. Plus the australian girl in the back did a george costanza and pushed everyone out of the way to exit the vehicle, it was the end of a brief but beautiful relationship
