Spent Boxing Day recoing the bigger brake calipers in preparation for the reassembly, quick lick with the blaster to knock the crud off, coat of paint and new seals and staino pistons. These with some nice slotted rotors, heavy pads and braided lines should lock up the 35's no worries :)
Also did a sub and egt/boost/temp gauges for the mate that's been giving me a hand with the front axle, shed looks pretty good right now

Airing out for next weekends trip!

Thanks mate, they are Eplison Elite Max. I imported them myself from Japan. They measure 16 x 10 -38

Aloha Jen, you are amazing!

Today I Removed the OEM Option Dust Deflector, and finally installed the JDM Wing.

I also removed the LED tail lights, as that is what was stopping the factory Cruise Control working! Gone back to OEM, which aint that bad!

I presume you already know this, and you only have it this way to air it out, but the support bow for the vestibule should be at a 45* and in the upper corners of the vestibule rather than straight out like you have it in the photo.

The website makes it seem like it's a "by appointment" sort of thing. Did you try calling? I'm in SLC right now and would like to see it too. Let me know if you figure it out.
Stopped at the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum. Don't think it's open. Maybe closed for the holidays. Dang.

Ye, it's best to set up an appointment. If you can't get in contact with @cruiserdan you could call @cruiseroutfit (kurt) at Cruiser Outfitters as he often takes groups through the museum.

Yup, I'm always up for a museum tour. Schedule can be tough for me I do a couple nights/weekend tours each month.

I effin smashed a finger with it  - as if that's something anyone would need while wheeling

they gave me this splint at the hospital to keep the darn thing from getting caught in my own rear driver door closing yet again :bang:

Could you do me a favor and snap a few close ups of the mounting brackets for the rear visor? I have one sitting on my shelf but no brackets/hardware to attach it to the rear hatch.

Thanks!!

The calipers are from a post '92 model with the 16" brakes, with stainless pistons and new seals. Rotors are DBA T3's, pads are RDA Extremes from a 105 series which are apparently a larger surface area but still fit the 80 calipers. Also braided lines all round :)

Aaahhhrrr the Krraaken! She be a wee beastie, but will bite your arse! That's the best Irish accent i can type. I'll drink anything that has the same color as a good 5W-30
 not bad. Only bourbon I can stand is Wild Turkey, other than that, any rum is a good rum, and I don't mind Irish whiskey either

You can mangle anything!

Why are you paving a trail?

All trails in area have been closed by FS due to a forest fire in 2005. Trail was completely gone in a few areas. We are doing minimum repairs at a couple of locations by hand so FS will re-open. We are doing this the hard way so that FS does not bring in heavy equipment to do repairs. That would ruin the rest of a really good trail.

Took the family up onto the Volcanic Tablelands north of Bishop, CA. Discovered it's time to address the cooling system and fan clutch. Otherwise, spectacular.

how is that trail? I might run it this weekend
