Installed a new head gasket after my other blew.

Drove it! After replacing water pump, fan clutch, fan, hoses, belts etc.

Started the engine in my 1uz lexus v8 swap. Replaced a bad coil on it and then replaced that same coil with a good one. Sound's good with open manifolds.

I have wrist surgery on the 18th so its gonna be a while longer.

Loaded it up with 4 other friends and a ton of gear and went to Yosemite for a three day weekend. This year's trip was the 25th annual for the De Anza College Outdoor Club. The weather was better than expected, but I swear this club is cursed by rain. (it's rained on ever trip/event I've done with the club) Ate an epic Sunday buffet brunch at the Ahwahnee hotel, (the club paid for half of the club officers bills; half off made it taste even better!).

Went out to trim some trees with my roofracks on Mt Provost, Cowichan Valley, BC. Found some awesome trails, lots of flexing, crawling down steep riverbeds and some sandy hill climbs. Mt Provost has some old mining history, there's a large clay pit and numerous mine shafts along the way

Also re-installed my newly rebuilt double cardan driveshaft
These speakers are a pretty nice perk when working underneath the rig

Looks good, we were there just before I left and it was covered in snow. I guess west coast winter is over!
So keep all the part numbers for the universals you used on the drive shafts. Was it true that there were two different
sizes per end?

Ya I wrote them down and kept the receipt for next time....
no they were all the same.... one was definitely harder to get, but it eventually popped in. I cleaned all those parts like crazy to make my life easier when rebuilding.
I have a feeling the other sources may have a had a light layer of rust or something in their sleeves that hard formed with the previous ujoints....hence why the old caps went on perfectly fine.

Looks like it is getting parked for a bit. Front axle is leaking, got a bearing(engine) making noise. Rack needs some loving. Bunch of stuff. Might, might, be back with a V8 and ARB's front and rear. We will see.........Alaska trip was a bit of a bitch.

Took a ride through the Madison Valley over to Virginia City.

Today my valentine gave me a kitchen pass for the first half of the day So I rebuilt both bellcranks, derusted my drums and painted them black!

I tore into my brakes to completely redo all rear brake system but the bits inside looked brand new! So I did some cleaning and ensured that the cylinders were functioning then put it all back together. I was hoping now that the Ebrakes work that my brakes would function better. Unfortunately that is just not the case, I bled everything. And the brakes do work a bit better but not like I think they should.... This was the only photo I took so I'm posting it
