Thanks for the link. I definitely look the look and its better than having my tool bag rolling around back there haha

One drawer has recovery gear/tools/etc. The other drawer is free for "mission-specific" gear, camping items, cooking gear, etc.

Finally finished the front bumper, maybe. I may add on to the edges to make it wider, or I may trim the fender, or I will just leave it and see what happens.

Still need to make the plate mount, but for now the zip ties have the duty.

HMMMM!

Great looking bumper, looks a lot like the 4Plus+ bumper or J's new build (@reevesci)

Thanks Greg, I borrowed heavily from the 4+ design, with a little bit of J's as well. When he posted that pic the other day I laughed a bit. They are almost the same.

Rear is up next, if it takes as long as the front, expect pictures in January!

Hell... I don't care... Build away.... Looks good... My new front will be in the works in the next few days...

Finished up the front axle rebuild with 4.88s. Hydra cooling fan system next and mount the remote PS reservoir then button up some other small things before finally going after wiring the 1uz.

Thought about putting my first post in the registry, but this seems... more appropriate.

I haven't own a Toyota in about 8 years, but this when I was in college.

Wrenched on it a little, really enjoyed it, and have recently been looking at buying another. It had 235k miles on it when I sold it, and I think I got with around 200k. I also had the privilege of driving a buddy's '90 FJ62 over a summer a few years ago and really loved it then, so when I started looking recently, I focused on them.

All that is to say that I picked up this lil guy over the weekend in Houston from another Mud member. Gah... I don't remember what he posts as right now. I'll have to ask him.

232k miles, and rock solid. Needs a little body work and some TLC, but in really good shape for the most part. Pretty Pumped about this!

Immediate goals are new tires, mainly because this happened about 40 miles from home

I knew they were the first thing to get replaced, but I thought I'd make it back at least! Ended up having to leave it  and head back the next morning because the spare tire dropper is seized up. Slapped a $60 wal-mart tire on it the next day and slowly made my way back, but I made it.

*Immediate goals are....

- New tires first and foremost
- Getting a checkup
- Taking out the head liner and monstalining the interior. Floors too, but the carpet will go back in
IMG_20141026_113622.jpg

- Driver side front corner has the first stages of somebody work already done. need to finish it and order a new light housing and some side markers
- Maybe new black rims for it, might just plastidip the stock ones for the time being though
- Fix the tailgate. Slight crunch in the rear and it won't open
- Power locks need some work or replacing

Then when I'm satisfied that it runs well enough and starts to look how I want:

- ARB bumpers front and rear (or an alternative, access to a shop back home might let me fabricate and learn a little more about welding)
- Spare tire carrier for the back
- 2-3" lift and 33" BFG A/Ts
- Window tint

patrol discs, ford calipers, hydraulic handbrake, lots of grinding - how specific do you want me tko get?

Fired up my 12HT for the first time since the swap!!! Boy is it LOUDDD
