Installed new window tracks front and rear along with new weather stripping on the front doors. Made a huge difference in wind noise on my 60. Unfortunate the rear door weather stripping is NLA.

Not the weekend but just added new chrome headlight surrounds and a bonnet protector, all i need now is a chrome grille sitting behind my bullbar and im set!
If anyone knows where i can get one pls chime in

Fabbed up a cb radio mount. It uses the existing holes for the rear view mirror. Made from 1/8 stainless steel plate. Got the idea from @jtjb60 (saw a post in a previous thread). Good idea, works awesome!

Got my poor mechanic to fit a new bullbar/brushbar. If I didn't give him so much business I think he would have given up as the old one was a pain to take off. Will paint it satin black. As least now the girlie will stop complaining about having to climb into it.

A few weekends ago, but nonetheless....took Mel and the pups out to the camp for the weekend:

And earlier today, met Mel and some friends at City Park (NOLA):

Staying in Squamish this weekend with a friend and figured I better find a cool spot to take a drive. Decided on Callaghan provincial park, 15km from the highway lies this beautiful glacial lake just south of whistler. Definitely recommend this easy drive for anyone visiting the whistler area.

That is one sweet spot...!!!
Was there some 2 years ago....!!!
Always wonder what it looked like in a cloudy day....!!!
Thanks for posting

J what is the purpose of blacking out the interior in the back? I have enough trouble finding stuff back there sometimes.
Those gauges are kind of cool looking, are both the speedo and tach electronic?

I confirmed that I lost front high gear in my atlas.... Tried a slick rock climb last time out and got a clunk out of the tc under power. Went out this weekend and low low still works as does rear high but I get a nice grinding when front high is engaged and coasting. Front is still getting power but I gotta open er up and see whats goin on in there.

Last ride of the season so at least I have time to dick with it lol.

J, I love my FJC with its complete black interior, In the summer it is extremely cool and I like the relaxing DARK... My next 60 will be MODDED to resemble an OLD SCHOOL delivery wagon... (already been thinking about it...):rolleyes:

Everything is electric.. I have a Dakota digital tach sender for the Cummins 4BT so wiring the tach up will be simple.. The speedo it GPS... Doesn't get much easier there.

Fuel sending unit has a programable range to match the 60s, 17-120 ohm range as well (16-158)ohm. Programable warning lights for high levels for each gauge and built in turn, hazard and high beam indicators... So for my rig, completely custom, works GREAT!

She suddenly doesn't want to start cold, even with the magnetic pan heater and it's only getting down to 'round freezing overnight.
She will start with a shot of ether. Once she runs for a bit restarts are ok.

So, I pulled the manifold and headers, checked for leaks and had an exhaust leak on #3, replaced the gasket there and on the carb. Reset timing, think I got it too far advances--everyone says I should be about 14* BTDC but no one tells me how to figure out what that is? The BB below the pointer for sure but how far? Anyway, backed that off some. Still doesn't want to start unassisted by drugs so I decided it was probably the used igniter and coil I got at the junkyard. Ordered new from Toyota Parts Overstock for a mere $400. If that doesn't fix it I think I'll just slit my wrists.

Also replaced my dome light with a LED bulb, not very bright--my cousin calls it "mood lighting"--but it's enough I can find stuff and not super bright to destroy night vision. Got my Hella 550 fog lights for both the Goose FJ60 and Tink the TJ but didn't get 'em mounted.

Reinstalled my rebuilt by me injectors

Thanks to @mongoose2231 for the injector nozzle link and @GLTHFJ60 for the disassembly help.

Check and make sure that the choke plate is fully closing over the throat opening of the carb. The choke plate should be making a nice, air tight seal.

To do this (with the engine off), remove the air filter, fully pull out the choke knob in the cabin of the vehicle and then with your finger push down on the edge of the choke plate where it is supposed to mate with the throat of the carb. It should be sealing tight...completely. If there is any downward movement of the plate (even 1mm) when you push with your finger, you need to adjust the tension on the choke cable to pick up that slack.

To adjust the tension on the choke cable, first remove the tension on the choke plate by fully pushing in the choke knob inside the cabin of the vehicle. You should see the choke plate fully open now over the throat of the carb. Find where the cable housing is held in place with a bracket on the back of the carb. If you loosen the bracket (should be a Philips head screw), then slide the cable housing back a little to pick up the slack and retighten the screw. Adjust as necessary until you get the correct tension on the cable to fully seat the choke plate when the choke knob inside the cabin of the vehicle is pully out fully.

Reset timing, think I got it too far advances--everyone says I should be about 14* BTDC but no one tells me how to figure out what that is? The BB below the pointer for sure but how far?

The distance on the flywheel between the TDC line and the 7* BTDC BB is 7* in advance....so you can use that as a relative measure. But 'moving' the BB to the bottom of the timing window should give you ~10* advance...
