Tried out my 65 dollar sleeping platform, which worked flawlessly! Queen bed comfort in Los Padres above Big Sur. Tons of people camping, but thanks to the 60 we were able to leave the crowds behind and camp in seclusion.

Turns out I didn't fix my leak

did you put an nightcrawler size glop of RTV around all the holes in the diff cover then wait for it to set for a half hour or more then fill the diff?
after it has sat for a while i snug down the bolts another quarter turn then fill it up and drive away. dont forget to clean up the cover itself to shiny metal and the actual axle housing around the studs.

Mounted my Rigid lights inside my grill. Trying to keep a clean front end. Got the idea from scottryana on the 80 forum. Wish I mounted them higher up, but the grill opening on the bottom was perfect size.

Swapped out my locked 4.88 geared rear diff for a 3.70 open gear set. I now am cruising at 70mph at less than 2k rpm lol

nice, I need to regear as well. i keep putting it off.

I really need a set of 4.56 gears instead of the 4.88s.

3.70s are too tall. The motor I have can deal, but it's not premium, and the Speedo is way off lol

I think that's pretty ideal :D

Desmogged my 62 and changed out the tranny and transfer case fluid

Shouldve desmogged long ago!

Earlier this week, brought the engine lift to another buddy's house to test fit his 2FE in the frame. You can see Moonshine in the background.

replaced my lower radiator hose, and installed a new intake for my 350tbi. Decided I'm going to sell it as well. I have a major itch for diesel...

Hey mate, what are they like at night, gotta a pic

Rear brake shoes. I HATE drum brakes. Hate hate hate! Still need to adjust them some more so the Ebrake will work.
Going this morning to get my new tires installed. Then this afternoon to get the AC switched over to R134A.

This was over the course of two weekends but… I installed a new thermostat, new water pump, new water hoses, cleaned the cold start injector, replaced the fuel damper, installed new distributor, adjusted the timing, throughly cleaned the throttle body (had to make a new gasket by hand), reset the TPS, and then reset the timing. I'm still chasing a rough idle issue and I'll be replacing all the vac. hoses any day now (waiting for hose to arrive).
I've been driving this rig (an '89 fj62) for about five years as a loaner from my sister. About three months ago my sister and her husband decided to just give it to me. Now all I can think about is what I wan to do next on it. I love it!!
