NOT IN A HURRY 🐢

I had intended for this to be the crown jewel on top of the completed lift gate project.....but I caved 😂😬. check my recent posts for part 1️⃣ and 2️⃣ of the project.

I saw the sticker on a 40 and bought one immediately.

That’s great. “Can’t hurry” might be very applicable too.

@NearJetties A rain gutter reseal needs to be in your near future. I say this only because I let mine go and now have two roof rust spots over the rear windows, one spot on mine looks pretty bad.

Did you do the r2.8 swap yourself or have a shop do it? What are your initial impressions? Thanks

I did the swap. The hardest part was cutting the mounts and welding the new ones in.
Manual is really easy to follow for getting an understanding of the system the engine needs for support.

H55F with 4.88's and 35's for perspective.
Today was the second day driving it.
Power and torque is much better than the 2F.
Noise: I have a straight pipe from the turbo outlet. I could quiet it down if I added a muffler but it's not really needed.
Vibration: it's there but not that bad.
Overall very happy with the setup and purchase. I will be updating my thread with the build and giving impressions for on highway.
I really want to understand how it will perform on I-70 in CO on the passes. That's one reason why I bough the engine.

it’s at the top of my to-do list and I have all the stuff to do it but it got colder earlier than I expected. Was thinking 60s were fine but the epoxy needs 70s.

hoping to borrow a friends garage and propane heater soon.

mare you just mentioning it in general or do you see something I might be missing?

I just happened to zoom in on your roof rack and noticed the dried and cracked sealant in your gutter. ....and I'm so pissed off at myself about the roof bubbles coming up on mine. I've always prided my rig for being rust free, and this is a real pain in the a$$ rust spot.
Thats all.

Merry Christmas! My new OEM dash pad arrived last week, but I’ve got to wait to open it...
:santa:
Need to figure out whether I'm going to cut out the holes for the side defrosters, since that version isn't available. Should be straight forward, right?
