What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (3 Viewers)

Fortunately I was blessed with a clean frame to start with. This Cruiser is a JDM import from @SteveJackson at Land Cruisers Direct and has fairly low miles. The exterior paint is quite patina'd from sitting in the sun but the frame and body are nearly completely rust free.

I still do a fair bit of prep work. I start with a wire brush to knock down loose stuff. I move to a wire brush on a 4" grinder and work it around really well. I get hard to reach spots with a die grinder and a scothbrite pad. From there it's clean up, first with brake cleaner and then wax/grease remover paint prep. I'm painting with Rustoleum heavy duty or Steel-It poly paint.

That's helpful Kurt. Wheel wells and front of frame are on my to do list when my 62 gets back from TT.

New bearings and seals in the rear axle and a complete rebuild of the rear brakes...and then just got out and drove her.

I towed my Aprilia Shiver 750 from Austin, TX up to the Ozarks - 1300 miles round trip. Got in some camping, hiking, and a few hundred miles of riding something considerably faster than the 60.

Arkansas side. We camped at Moccasin Gap north of Russellville. Really gorgeous country, reminds me of home in Alabama.

I need to take my 62 back to Ouachita, although it'll be a slow trek up them hills.

I was anything but quick on those mountain roads with a 400lb bike and trailer in tow. After I got the bike off, it was a different story

Looks good Kurt! Front axle refresh is on my to-do list once we get this thing back from the H55 swap.

Nice, who is doing the H55F?

Summer tires on and front speakers set back up. Still need to make some weather barriers but this truck lives in the garage so it’s not as critical.

Haha you're the man! I actually want to swap the aftermarket dust shield out for the oem one along with the studs....the difference is noticeable :smokin:
Curious, what is noticeable? The amount of dust that builds up? Just painted my output flange just because I had it out, but I always wondered why they sell so much of these things as I don't see how they could break (perhaps bolts but those can be swapped).
