Well I still only have the front door speakers installed, been waiting for it to be warm enough to install the rear door speakers and find the right connector. The front door speakers were plug and play using the Metra adapters. I have another pair of Metra adapters to use on the Skar speakers but the negative terminal on the Skars is the same size as the positive terminal but the Metra adapters have a smaller size for the negative plug. Thinking maybe I can crimp down the negative terminal on the Skar speaker to fit the adapter (is this unwise?).

The DS18 speakers definitely hit and sound a lot better than the stock and work fine with the factory ML amp. I can tell it's better quality, but need to get a better way to connect phone to stereo. Don't know if CD changer works and streaming from phone via FM transmitter but don't have a completely clear station, so it's hit or miss. Saving for the Teyes CC3 system next.

Nice. How do the speakers do with the factory AMP (assuming that's what your using)?

Changed leaking valve cover gaskets this weekend. Super impressed by how good this looks for 15 years old.

Starting to research the driveshaft clunk... it's been getting worse any my wife is complaining about it. What's the best way to solve that problem these days? I'm guessing Lexus IS no longer servicing these in recall or warrantee. Is it better to buy the part and take it to a shop? Or does the dealer actually help out these days. Anyone gave access to the Technical service bulletin about this?

I believe the general consensus is to replace the driveshaft. It’s a pretty easy swap. I think the new part is between $400 and $500 from the dealer, but I’m not certain at all. Been a while since I looked into this. The warranty window for the TSB has passed as far as I know.

On my '07 (which I understand has an upgraded driveshaft), the clunk all but went away after greasing the shaft (at the zerks, without disassembling it) and replacing all 4 rear control arms (~$130 from Rock Auto for Moog parts). I very, very rarely get clunks anymore. Others have also reported the clunk disappearing after replacing the rear control arms.

Here is the unit I purchased on BF.

Highly recommended and a very straight forward install even for the inexperience like me!
What about the airco controls? They still work?

Hit up discount and had the tires balanced and rotated (including the spare.)
Got a quote on certs and dang they’ve gotten pricey lol. Waiting on a quote from a buddy to see if I can get a better deal.

That looks great. Is that the true north rear bumper? Seems like a good cheaper option than a full plate bumper.
Good eye. Yeah picked up the diy kit during black friday and was not too bad even for a beginner welder such as myself.

Finally got around to finishing up some wiring. Not particularly thrilled with the louver switch location (or the hacked LRA tank indicator) but they'll have to do until I can get a proper mounting solution. Now just need to get the 8.2 axle sitting in pieces installed.

Also, that third row pocket is a great place for an auxiliary relay/fuse block.

How difficult is the louvre job? Did you get the actuator things from a sienna? I'm jealous of that lra tank
