Jw roof rack, home made propane tank mount, ditch lights, niight 6 switch panel for lights/future lights.

After fighting with cheap Harbor Freight air impacts and electric impacts, and always being disappointed/frustrated of not being able to break loose a 80 ft/lb lug nut, I finally ponied up for a real cordless impact. This thing weighs a ton, and my two crummy HF impacts would have paid for half of it. Looking forward to using it on an upcoming CV reboot.

That’s ****ing rad! Love Milwaukee.

Pops got me some Milwaukee tools before college, and it’s all I’ve bought since whenever I can afford it.

Here is the unit I purchased on BF.

Highly recommended and a very straight forward install even for the inexperience like me!
Picked up the same unit and very happy. Using it with wireless Android Auto and it's been great. Very responsive, no weirdness. I had picked up an Xtrons unit first and spent hours messing with it as things would just stop working randomly so sent that one back. This one just worked from the get go and everything is quick and responsive. Amazing how this transforms the car into something more modern all of a sudden. Backup Camera, tracking trails off road and everything else that comes with a modern head unit.

Thanks! First Milwaukee here! I've finally got the point in life where I'm no longer going to buy cheap tools unless it's something that will get used very infrequently. I love wrenching but don't have that much time - anything to expedite it is well worth it IMO. We'll see how this thing does on the 232 ft/lb CV axle nut and 167 ft/lb LBJ-to-steering knuckle bolts that the my HF electric impact wouldn't move (got them last time by my air impact, albeit slowly due to small compressor).

This last weekend I finally got to a good "pausing" point on my "budget" build.
I found myself some OEM Tacoma struts, and my buddy's spare Dobinsons 2" rear lift springs.
Put those on, as well as the lift spacers i was running on the stock suspension.
Overall I'm now sitting on a 3.5" lift and practically new 35s. (Wildpeak MT)
The higher spring rate keeps me from ever rubbing.
It's a bit of a stiffer ride, but not EVER rubbing or hitting the bump stops is pretty nice.
...now for gears. I'd like a 8.2 rear end, but it's just not in the budget for this year.
So, anyone got some front and rear 4.56 gears sitting around? 😄

Thats a lot of bumper trimming Spaladin! When I trim my bumper I hope to raise the exhaust exit also. And a Metal Tech lower profile receiver mount.
But your rig looks good.👍

I tackled a small thing that was irking me for a while... drivers side heated seat switch bulb was burned out.... scavenged the one from my old ride height control that was in the parts box and now all is right with the world. Ten minutes including walking to the parking lot from the 2nd floor!

Great idea, my passenger side is out so I'll use mine for that!

Ha, that’s clever! I wish I’d thought to do that. Instead, I hunted down a part # and ordered a couple bulbs from Toyota. Whoops.

Dealer wants too much $ for those damn bulbs... if any more burn out I will update all of the switches to leds

You can buy a pack of 25 replacement LEDs and take the switch apart and install the new bulb.

There's a thread on here if you search for it.

I'm away from home right now, but I'll post the bulb part number when I have them in hand. The bulbs were under $25 for the pack.

Thanks! Funny you should mention. I was just staring at those thinking about how I need to do exactly those two things. 😆
I may just chop the exhaust above the axle as I plan to do true dual exhaust with twin flowmaster DBX "mufflers" after I get my DT long tube headers.

I put this one (from this eBay seller) on my GX and I'm very happy with it. Shipping was quick from UAE. OEM part, so you know it'll hold up. Rated to 5k I think.

Mounts directly to the rear frame. Very low profile.

Same one on Amazon but the listing says "Country of Origin - China," so this might be a knockoff:
Amazon product ASIN B00GKMPAJS

Oh nice. This is good to know. Especially because I hear metaltech was going to discontinue their high clearance hitch.

New taillights. Look great from the sides but not so great from the rear. Quality is not on par with the price. Ended up fixing all the issues on them and removed them. Sold them at a loss as I just didn't like the way they looked on my truck.

Starting to work on comms with a Kenwood TM-D710GA VHF/UHF radio. Also installed a Prado 120 field monitor I ended up getting a great deal on. Adjusting the dash coverlay after I get the radio fully hooked up and running. Lots to do still.

Back to adjusting the tire carrier and reinforcement of the rear door this weekend......now that I got the t case issue resolved.

Dang I would love a field monitor. Reminds of my 3rd gen 4runner days and drooling over the sunglasses holder field monitor installs. Is the wiring and everything already there for it? Simple as cut and install? Or do you not even need to cut the dash?

Dash has to be cut... .but there's a template on the bottom side for you to follow. Plug and play.

I found this one on eBay marketplace as NEW OEM parts never used. Cheaper than ordering from overseas. Unfortunately the seller wasn't telling the truth. The plastic lens covering the display and the buttons had been painted black almost like a thick over spray if that makes sense. Seller refused to discount and said that I did it. Had to go through PayPal disputes. Ended up getting a very healthy discount.
