Powerstop rotors and pads, $50 craigslist score. Oh and of couse a frozen caliper. Next time it will be gx460 stuff.

that's a fantastic feature. what did you use to grab the release? did you document it at all?

I did not document it. I followed this fellow members diy (Interior rear door release), but I did not like the end result as the "pull" required a lot of effort on the little knob. Instead I ran a 1/4” threaded rod straight down and attached it to the opposite part of the lever and onto a pre-existing screw. You can see the screw just above where he crimps the cables together on the 2nd to the last photo he posts. I used a marine eye strap to pick up the existing screw. This method allows me to push down on the door release with little effort.

I will take photos when I take it apart again because I have to bend the rod to center it in the grommet better.

thanks for the link! i'll definitely be looking at doing this - crawling out through the middle one time was enough for me.

Project started last week at Steve Foltzs’ house. I got his mini max bumper and he installed it for me (I was a gopher, helped as much as I could-not much). You can see Steve’s Ego Crusher Truck in the background. We put the bumper together last week and had plans to meet up and go wheeling in Divide on Saturday (yesterday). I was late and missed the group but decided to go “solo” because there was a huge Jeep behind me and he said he’d help if needed. The trails were in the FunTreks book-The Gulches. Clouds got real dark, lightening, rain then hail/sleet, I turned around without actually getting to the bottom. It was still awesome. Then today, we finished up the bumper. I love it. On my way from Divide to Steve’s House, two things happened; first, rolled over 100k in my ‘07 and the maintenance light came on. I’m
On my way to Cali and usually take the truck to Lexus but Steve set me up and helped me change it myself. Super stoked on that, never actually did it myself on the gx...and if you remember when I got stuck in the mud in pagosa, there was crazy rocks and mud in my skid plates.
While doing the bumper, Steve tells me he’s got a guy down the street who builds sliders so from Steve’s, I drove to Ryan the welders house and left the lifted gx with him to do my sliders while I’m in Cali—getting an LRA aux gas tank installed at cruise brothers along with a valve body and trans cooler and terrain tamer brakes on the tow rig. Super exited. Btw the sliders are costing me $600 installed and have a solid/dimpled top (wife wanted). I can pass on his info if anyone is interested. I’ll post a pic of his design but he can do custom stuff no problem.
Just want to say a public thank you to Steve for all his help, he went above and beyond all expectations and made the GXOR family feel very real and awesome. Seriously to get the job done he let my wife babysit his daughter and we were virtually total strangers. Oh and the pic of Airstream is at the highest KOA campground in the world. We just started using the trailer, it is solar/boondock ready, we just need to get used to it at these campgrounds first.

Fitting for page 120 in this thread 😈

Rhino-Rack Prado 120 backbone and Pioneer Platform installed on the GX470.

The backbone for the 460 is commercially available and on the RR website but the Prado120 backbone is not (yet). We dialed it in, it DOES exist, perfectly fits the GX470 (b/c.... duh), IS available through Rhino-Rack distributors (if they don't know just have them check their supplier (RR warehouse) for the RTPB2 part number), and will soon be on the RR USA website!! IT CAN BE HAD!

Those are KDSS FSB bushings. I did rears as this rig came to me with a bit of a clunk. RSB bushings cleared it up. I did the front outer bushings a few months ago, but there was still a little clunk that worsened over the months. This cleared it up, back to quiet again.
