x2! That was close!

I filled up the motor, transmission, and transfer case with oil and tried to start it. Dead battery...boosted it with my 60 but still no dice. It sounds as if the starter isn't spinning the flywheel properly.

Falling rigs=no bueno! Bigger rigs require bigger jack stands. I highly recommend tall stands from harbor freight. Only 20 bucks I think. I've a dropped truck or two but never have I admitted it to the world! Good work!

i was using jack stands but i had to drop my axles lower so that my truck could go higher thats when it went all bad. its all good though no damage to anything.

Glad you are o-k. Please be careful!!!

Sh*t can happen. Coulda been worse. LOL. We've all done it at some time or another. I wish my pig looked as clean as yours:cheers:

Howdy! The problem is that nobody makes affordable jack stands that can reach the frame on a lifted Piggy. I don't want to start another debate on what is safe to use or not, but I have to use a pylon of cinder blocks with wood caps to set my jacks on, and then block it up on that. John

I've had similar issues and I set my jackstands to their highest possible settings, pull the wheels/tires and set the truck down. It may mean that the axle is nearly touching the ground but the important part for me anyways is SAFETY!!

You can see here when I put the lift springs on my truck. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...r-potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala.html#post2500896 The truck is safe on the stands but the axle is far too low to have the wheels and tires on it but who cares? I'll lift it again once all the work is done.

I do the same

I pulled the turbo off the manifold so I can get to the leaking oil discharge line. It was causing black oil speckles all over the tailgate on the drive up from Tuscon a week or two back (but the truck underside is now well rust-proofed!). Not enough to be a problem but certainly annoying. I'm thinking it was simply soldered with regular plumbing grade solder and the proximity of the discharge line to the exhaust manifold has, over time, caused the discharge line to begin to leak. I brought the line into a rad shop to see if they can silver solder the connections to stop the leaking. I'll be picking it up later today and re-installing it to see whether the leak is fixed.

hey laguna! The lower part of the radiator support makes it look like the pig is smiling!

It lives! Got it out onto the street for some clean up, then went in and set timing (it was wayyyyy off) and adjusted the carb. Sounds better than my 60. :)
