Added a Front Runner Drop down table to my Wilco Off Road swing out.

Sarah, Graham, and I, plus my sister, camped on Mingus Mountain with @Saddletramp and @LongDuck.

Cooked burgers last night, and this morning, cooked bacon, pancakes, and fried eggs.

Really like the new setup.

What's nice is how smoothly and quickly it all packs up with everything in its place. I looked closely and there's not enough gap to fit on my Slee single-swing-out... still looking for a thinner version, or may go low-profile flat drawer (*aka U-Haul ramp...).

Great setup, and thanks again @Otter for pancakes and bacon.

After twenty six years of not selling it even thought I have never driven it decided to start working on my 73 FST. Last weekend dug out the doors and bows.

Tires were over thirty years old. One wouldn't even hold air so wasn't. Few weeks back I brought back some wheels from up north that @Dimples kindly gave me few years back. Got them switched out today. Looks better than I thought they would.

Not going to cut the rear wheel wells and appears even with the original springs looks like 31X10.50x15" will clear with no problem.

Next up either start straighten out the PO hack to the factory wiring or switch the hard door hinges with the original ones that came with it.

Usually it’s subtle, but in the right mix of light and shadow—like at 10 am on Sept 20th pointed just east of south—it’s stark how the J55’s lines carry forward into the J80.

Our virus-safe honeymoon suite for the next few weeks....

Do you have build or restoration plans for that beauty? Great color. I agree that the alloys don’t look half bad. I wouldn’t have guessed that.

Plans always seem to change. Ut currently 2F
H42
PTO winch
Fairey Overdrive
Disc brake front axle
Full floating rear axle.

Probably go with stock 15" wheels and hub caps. These wheels may go on my FJ45.

Besides patching holes for the spare tank that needs to go will probably replace to dash verses trying to fill all the holes from previous owners.

Easiest would be replacing the whole cowl but only have 78 cowls that would work. Do have a 73 dash with only one extra hole that needs to be filled. More work but probably go that route.

Always impressed with your setup. Practical but highly functional.

Looking at removing the hard door hinges I realized the upper passenger hinge is not going anywhere with that A/C evaporator in the way. Guess will look at that next. I did gather up some more parts. A few were in the glovebox. In the glovebox was the last registration and insurance card. Registration expired February 1989.

Have now OEM weatherstripping for the soft doors. Those have been NLA for a long time. When I bought them Larry Miller Toyota was still on Glendale and 47th ave. Think they were around $17 apiece.

Bought a new Kayline top in 1994 and ran it on my 68 a few times.

Been store away in a box inside since. Hoping it's in as good as shape as the replace vinyl door skins that came with the top that I never installed.

Found this one advertised in the AZ Republic want ads in 1995 and never install the other one again.

I still have 2 broken studs in those L-brackets that mount to the windshield frame, someday I need to get after those.
John, can't thank you enough for turning me on to that yard sale Besttop in Glendale years ago. IIRC, it was advertised
for a Jeep. I store it like gold, still in good shape.

The reason only one clamp was pictured for the rear bow is because the other one was still bolted to the tub. The other side the bolts are broken off. Started to drill them out to extract when my drill let the smoke out of the windings. Using a very small bit at low speed not applying much pressure. Wonder what the warranty is on this Craftsman drill and is anywhere still warranting there tools.

On another note I did get the hard door hinges removed from the tub today. First real test of my wrist I had surgery on four years ago. Once I lowered the A/C evaporator which which still has pressure in the system more than thirty years later I got the passenger side out. Driver only had to remove the fuse panel and not the speedometer cluster. If these aren't the hardest bolts to get at in an FJ40 there are close to the top of the list.
Even in the heat any day wrenching on a cruiser is a good day. Still having some dexterity is a plus.

Hauled home a cord of juniper for the woodstove.View attachment 2454449
