Avoided using the parking brake since their is so much resistance when I lift the lever.
The cold temps have either frozen the system or the grease I used two months ago has solidified.
I'd rather have it stuck OFF than ON.

70 Series transfer case ratio?
——————————————————————
I was watching a Ineos YouTube video (yes I was that bored) and the author was comparing the Ineos transfer case ratio 2.5 to 1 (vs the Rubicon at 4 to 1) and was not impressed. Got me to wondering where the 70 Series transfer case ratios fell into the pecking order. 😊

"compared to 1.95:1 in low range standard"

Sub freezing temps out? Lets go find some snow!

The ORV park has a nasty entrance/exit - but got myself through cleanly enough. The rest of the day was absolutely beautiful.

*disregard the riff-raff jeep crew I was out with.. they didn't know any better. (all joking aside everyones rig did really well out there)

Hello Chillcat

I am wondering what roof rack is that, and its load rating as its only mounted on the rain gutters. I am thinking of getting one for myself to mount a tent but it feels like it would be to heavy and potentially damage the frp top.

Regards
Jan

Depends on the spec but the common Split-Case available in the 7x Series range is avail in 1.9639:1 to 2.2956:1

Well in central VA we got 1/2" of snow last night.
Everyone is terrified.
We also got 1/2 foot 15cm here yesterday.
And the issued 'hazardous weather' warnings. Snow happens actually quite rarely in my place and always makes public life to shut down.
Took the the Cruiser to a testdrive in the fresh snow ❄️ yesterday evening, which I never had the opportunity before.
Worked great and was a lot of fun. 😁
I was particularly interested in how the BFG KO2 ATs do on snow. In summertime I experienced them to be actually surprisingly slippery on wet roads and e.g. wet grass.
But they did good on snow.
I found my previous assumption confirmed: They do OK (for what an AT is), if the profile has something to dig & grap into, like sand, mud and snow. But they are not so good on wet, 'hard' surfaces.
Unfortunately, now all roads got salted, so I might not take the Cruiser for another snow adventure on the weekend. Debating myself on this. 🤔
Cheers Ralf

Most all the white crust in this image is in fact, not snow or ice. The Red Rocket is nice and salty.

In fluid film we trust ;)

Freshly rebuilt 1HZ pump, yes we are fixing the wire splices before installing.

JDM Cruiser, sat for years like a lot of them do. Pump had water in it from those years sitting and was corroded inside needing many new parts. This is one of the reasons your low mile Cruisers are not always the best.

Cheers

Hey Jan - The rack is made by FrontRunner. It's their option for an xxJ76 or 78 I believe? It is not designed for the FRP top and I am not mounting it as intended. I've thought about it but don't think I would feel confident using it as a tent platform for 2 people, though 1 person might be ok. It feels very solid and stout as is, but I don't think I would risk damaging the gutters.

Thank you Chillcat

I guess my only option now is to also get a troopy 😅.

Got it at euro4x4 in France. Regularly listed. It is an aftermarket part, but good quality.
Equivalent to 46410-60270 46410-60280

What brand aftermarket? TSK by chance?
