Another old video, this was @TonyP 1HZ. First start in two years after I found it down in Latin America. This engine turned out to have a dead cylinder, kind of amazing how the 1HZ just won't die, it also had 605,000kms.

New A/C compressor.
New “high output” Terrain Tamer alternator.
New heavy duty Cummins starter.
Rebuilt injector pump.
Rebuilt injectors.
EGT probe moved to the correct position.
Turbo rebuilt.
New clutch.
New brake and clutch lines.
New R151 transmission and transfer case.
New engine and transmission mounts.
Just for grins, a new water pump and timing belt.
New radiator and shroud.
Soon to be installed A/W Intercooler.
.... For the first time in a quite a while the engine actually reflects the 2,000 miles that’s on it.

While not directly Cruiser related (other than the fact that they are going in my Cruiser garage) I’ve hit the jackpot on unique license plates. ( modern Russia and former USSR)

I started upgrading the side panels from 1/16" ABS to 1/4" HDPE. I wanted something more rigid that other things can be mounted to. The thin panels were held in place with sheet metal screws, new ones are fastened with Rivnuts and M6 furniture bolts. Planning to add cut outs to access the storage space behind the panels. Not GooseGear quality, but will work for me and a 34 year old work truck. More to come...

Just got back from 1000+ mile round trip to The Maze District in Canyonlands. Awesome trip, new fridge worked well, troopy performed well too, no issues.

104 deg. F on Saturday and 60 deg. F for a high on Tues. I didn't think I'd need a jacket on that trip, was more worried about having cold beers...

Wife made me go to IKEA on the way back...then we had to do at least three u-turns to get to a Starbucks; I'm not a fan of driving in SLC.

We ran into Ben Crockett of Toyota 4wd Owner's Magazine in the parking lot and had a good chat though. He's new to Park City and has an FJ75.

We also saw a group on the way in to The Maze (Blue FJCruiser and a Jeep Rubicon (I think)) sporting Land Cruiser Heritage Museum T-shirts, said they just visited you for the 4th time.

The muffler on the 78 series was just too rusted to save. For now, I put this side exit exhaust together using a Flowmaster muffler. Sounds good and looks the part.
I will post a photo tomorrow installed on the vehicle.

My son and I did a afternoon trip to uwharrie again with the bj73. After successfully doing the most difficult rated Daniel trail 390 last weekend, we decided to go and do the other ones after some rain but without bypassing any of the obstacles. Went over everything in front of us. Got hung up on a rock once but managed to get out by stacking rocks. .... Damaged one rim on a rock going a little too fast for tires at 15psi and rode home on the spare.
Got to test the fold-out picnic table but only with snack food. We'll camp overnight next time.

Front t-case output deal leaking pretty good. . I was going to take it back to Colorado but now it will have to wait til next week. I think the breather was/is plugged.
It felt a little loose as well so maybe that bearing is going out. Always something.

Made some heavy duty ABS plastic panels for the cargo area. Added a small electrical utility outlet. Very pleased with the result. The old original panels and door cards are still in pretty good condition. considering selling.

Been wanting to do same upgrade. Interested in knowing more about where you sourced the plastic fasteners (clips?) holding it to body.

Who rebuilt injector pump?
And where is correct location for EGT probe?

Odd Iron Off Road took care of the IP & injectors rebuild. My pyro probe is prior to the turbo.
