Had our national board joint review today.
The review team has recommended that Wheelhouse Mechanical be accredited to use the "R" symbol, in accordance with the most current edition of the National Board Inspection Code, to perform shop and field repairs and alterations to metallic pressure retaining items.

I'm back in the code welding business!!

Brian- Congrats on the new shop and the positive direction in which the new venture is going!!!! I had the need on many occasions while getting jobs done in the steel mill to need and get a company that could do R code repairs. Brian if you can you send me a copy of your business card I'd be glad to bring it to the attention of the guy who followed me at Carpenter in planning jobs.

Picked up the new to me 80 this morning. Shout out to @Ksitek for a smooth process. After the drive home, and seeing it in the daylight, I think it is going to replace my '95. Needs a right rear door due to rust, but otherwise is too clean to break up.

Finally got around to getting the cammo truck inspected after riding dirty for a few months. Got it home and found the first wheeling casualty. Split the inner sidewall. KO2s are hard to find now, so getting a Yoko as a spare and will plan to swap over to them sometime next season.

Chased down one of the gremlins on the '93. The taillights and dash lights were not working. The PO had removed the alarm, and in doing so appears to have pulled two of the wires out of the connector at the base of the steering column. A little solder and heat shrink, and the lighting is working as intended. Next up is the center diff and lockers...

Pulled the doors apart this weekend. None of the windows would go up and down. All of the window rubber is rock hard, the channel on the bottom of the windows appear to be loose on all four, and three of the four the regulator was out of the channel.

So I pulled the rubber and gave them a good scrubbing. Got some weatherstrip conditioner on its way to try to soften them up.

Pulled one regulator apart and oiled the motor journals. That seemed to speed things up. The internal grease was in great condition, so I will probably just pull the motors apart on the rest and oil.

Got the windows back together today. They now all go up and down I need to tackle the exhaust leak at the cat, which is going to be a PIA due to rust, and get all three diff lockers working. The CDL is not working when the TC is put in low, so I have no idea if the other two work or not.

Trying to chase down a pesky PO401 code on the Lexus 80 to pass inspection. PITA is that I don't want to take the intake all apart to get at the VSV and hoses just to put it all back together to disassemble it in the spring for the head gasket, but I may end up down that road in the end, or I may just keep driving it with the expired inspection

Got alignments done on the other two trucks and now I'm seeing a pull to the right under braking on the cammo truck. May have a defective LF caliper now. That would make sense with the spongy brake feel I have had the past couple of times out on the trails.

My son should get his license in less than 2 weeks ... can't wait. Thinking new speakers and some WeatherTech mats for Christmas for him.

Looks like we are due for some snow this weekend. The Polaris plow was original when I bought it in 2013 and I had done more repairs than I care to mention. I snagged this unit today and got it installed pretty quick like. Opted for the poly blade to keep the abuse down on the front end.

My recent 100 purchase came with spare rims and Blizzak's mounted. I decided to swap them this weekend. I ended up running out a bit today during the ice debacle and I was pretty impressed. I've always loved the way these vehicles handled snow/ice but adding the dedicated tires really made it feel like a tank. I'll see how they do in the snow tomorrow apparently as we are expecting 11"-18".
