Damn! You really got hammered. Is the car a neighbors, or did it just come down the creek from parts unknown?
76 year old neighbor was stopped on the next bridge upstream getting ready to turn around, water came up so fast it picked him up off the bridge and over the guard rail, he called 911 as he was floating downstream. The car ended up in his front yard. He’s a very lucky soul.

Finally got around to working on my truck. Swapped out the alignment tabs for some beefy ones by Total Chaos Fabrication. My alignment sleeve is seized in the lower control arm bushing so still waiting on new LCAs to finish that up. Also new uniballs in my UCAs and anti friction pads in my rear leafs cause they squeak now.

After a couple weeks owning the 40th anniversary FZJ80 it has been transformed into a working vehicle. It took a week trying to find the radio problem and i was able to find a short on the passengers side door speakerof wires. Then installed a double din radio and I was able to get the antenna working again.

Today I was trying catch up on the maintenance with fresh oil, front diff gear fluid, and a brake flush. The brown fluid in the bottle is the old brake fluid that was flushed out. I do need help trying to get the front seat working again so if anyone can provide any assistance I would greatly appreciate it.

Damn Rich, looking good!

Damn Rich, looking good!

Thank Aaron!

I removed all the wood trim and painted the shifter panel from the old wood to a satin black to match all the rest of the original black trim underneath the wood trim. Now its clean and simple. Hopefully I get to show to you at the next club meeting.

And wrapped the steering wheel, and swaped the shifter and......
The oil was fresh, but oh well....

I'm trying to hack my rear 02 sensor using capacitor and resisters per on line info.. problem is instead of two black wires, which are supposed to be the heater wires, and a white and a blue, I have two white wires, one of which is the heater positive line, and a gray wire with black stripe and solid gray wire.. Do any of you guys know which is which?

I gave him the Gambveti Gears for both seats with the truck, seems to be a deeper issue....
I gave up on my passenger side and now use a socket wrench to move it back and forth.. It can be a pita, but the seat is rarely moved anyway. One day I may fix it..

Maybe @Rics4rnr can harvist working parts from the passenger side to fix the drivers....

Should have finished the garage before starting to fill it up!

As long as the contents can be moved out under its own power - or at least rolled out on its own wheels. I'm trying to finish the ceiling in mine and working above all the stuff on the floor is a major hassle.

Not sure about the colors, but here’s the wiring diagram and connector pin outs from my ‘97 LX EWD booklet if it helps at all.

The red and yellow wires are ignintion positive and the black and brown are ground.

I did the seat gears on mine. I have an extra set of gears if you are interested in them.

It wasn't too bad of a job.

I wanted to know how much are you asking for the set of gears.

I installed a set but they were stripped out when I was trying to make adjustments. I am planning on trying to get the driverside seat working and to cannibalize the motor from the passengers side from the recommendation.

So I finally worked up the courage to begin attempting the knuckle rebuild today on the Cruiser. Step 1 ... drain the diff oil. Took heed and made sure to loosen the fill plug first. No problem there. Step 2 drain the fluid ... problem.

Can't get the socket (tried 2 different ones) on the bolt head. Looking for any cheats or tricks before trying to Dremmel it open a bit. The angle is crap to see what I'm doing. It's the leading edge towards the front of the truck.

I can ruin the bolt if needed as long as it comes out. New Wit's End pieces waiting to go in.

Guess this is what happens when you go wheeling in rocks and you are the runt :bang: Truck is keeping true to its rep of fighting me at every turn. Nothing is ever easy it seems.

Can I do the knuckle rebuild w/o draining or is that a FAIL?
