Disable the EGR and forget about them!

i thought the EGR system is crucial for optimal gas/combustion ??

I had to replace the whole system (egr valve, modulator and silinoid on my 97 camry cuz it was a old ladies car)

It is for many engines equipped with EGR.

It's a common opinion that it is unnecessary and an afterthought for US versions of the 3fe and 1fz to satisfy the epa.

I've yet to have any pistons melt since I fully removed mine.

Mine EGR has been plugged with BBs for two years now :hillbilly: and I have yet to see any affects other than a tiny increase in low-end power.

We call it the Hippie Valve.

I actually unhooked the 2 vacuum lines coming off of the fuel filter and hooked 1 vacuum line from one fitting on the fuel filter right across to the other fitting on the fuel filter and it seemed to run even better....will this hurt anything? I only did it for a few seconds but I guess it's pulling a vacuum off of itself? Any input?

Red topped bit = MODULATOR ASSY, EGR VACUUM
25870‑61020

Smaller part = FILTER, GAS, NO.1
90917‑11023
