One of our customers sent us some pics of his FJ40 with 1.25" wheel spacers installed. Just though I would share.

What is the lift/wheels/tires on that 40?

That never happens...

The spacer would not put any more pressure on those studs then a wheel with the backspacing. The problem is you either need special nuts for those spacers, or you need to get longer wheel studs, it is in the instructions, but most people never do it right. Add to that you need to take the wheel off and re tighten the spacer them many times when new, or the lugs on the spacer can come loose as the wear in a little, also in the instructions and also rarely done.

Yes, you are right. You need to treat the adapter the same way as tires. I use thread lock for extra level of protection against unscrewing and periodically check the condition of the adapter lugs.

YEP!! It's my baby

 I have a copy of that magazine around somewhere. Once I find it, I'll post up a pic of the page it's on.

Yep. That's it! Nice rig, Justin.

I think that was the first time I had heard of H*ll Creek. Way back before I even bought my 40.

Simple leverage physics begs to differ. With a spacer, it is twice as likely to break.

This is stronger

than this.

Yeah yeah yeah. That is a pick up and you can see there is a fiberglass top on the bed, that is why it broke.:hillbilly:
