Had a great time. Now I cannot be called a rookie. Though that was not my first time wheelin a 40. I can say it was my first time going up rocks. The road leading to the campsite was really nasty with ALex sinking his 40 up to the front emblem in water. I got some good video of that. Alex almost tipped over in another spot. I think every one trashed something on the left side going in because the ruts were so big you would slide against the left wall. My soft top is proof of that. It has mud scrapes all the way to the top on the left side. At least 7 ft. Matt a Alex both trashed there left tail lights.
Camping was good, burgers of course were great since I cooked them.

We ended up bringing a big tarp and strung it between Alexs and my 40. SO it did rain for an hr or so but we all stayed dry and the fire kept burning all night long. Thanks to Matts firewood. Eggs, bacon and hashbrowns and swiss rolls for breakfast and we were off.
We first attempted the climb in the picture above. With all of us easy making it half way. Jon Paul

made the first attempt to the summit and after some winching did so. I was next and had gotten past the hard part decided I was trashing the 40 to get there and chickened out. I don't think anyone else except Alex could have made it. I ended up losing the right rear bell housing mount and bending my skid plate up around my front drive shaft. JP cooked his wire to his wich which wasn't tighted down enough. (note to self) We all backed down and went down another section which ended up going around the mountain and ended up on the other side of that hill.
We always knew where Richard was.
JPs accent to the summit.
That trail Matt figured out what my noise was and we fixed the skid plate. Me Matt, Richard got stuck in a big hole with JP and Alex going around and pulling us through. JP decided to takes us up a four wheeler trail and proceeded to crack his windshield and get lodged against a tree. At the end of that trail was a creek crossing where Alex and Richard ( the beginning of the end of the 55) got stuck and Alex broke his emergancy brake and almost lost his 40 in the creek (I have good video of JP trying to hold a 40 from rolling down a hill by the winch cable while Alex attemps to jump back in it while rolling back which he accomplished.
THe last part ended up doing the most damage and it really was the easiest. I ripped the front left motor mount causing my fan to eat into the fan shroud upon hard excelleration. Richards 55 finally died ( no spark). JP some how managed to hit something and bend his leaf spring. JP, I looked at the video and there was something in that hole you had to of hit. I can see when it happened on the video. Alex now has a permanent click comming from his locker. We had one more hill to climb at this point to make it to the road Myself, Alex and Matt made it easily. With the 55 out JP tried to tow him up but the pig gave a lot of resistance. So the next 2 and a half hrs JP, Alex and myself all in a long line slowly towed him up the hill. Draining everyones battery at least twice and taxing all the wiches. Alexs winch finally died and he was having carb problems and JP and I drug the pig to the top. But we were to civiliztion. JP towed richard to the gas staion.
I wonder who could be at the line down at the bottom of the mountain?
The one thing to note is that I didn't talk much about Matt. That's because he never had a problem and went every where we did. I still think he has a locker in the rear. He just amazed us all with his cruisers ability. And the only damage he suffered was a broken tail light and a little body damage.
A very mentally and physically trip but a lot of fun. Hope to do it again.
Wow that was long.....
Did I mis anything?
I'll work getiing pictures and video this week up. It's an hr long but only has about 15 minutes of good wheeling on it.
Notice how far the mud scrapes go. All the way to the top.
