Fawking hilarious thread and bad assed lookin van man! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the exo since my j lo assed junk is getting more and more wrinkly.

Is that meremite can dealie a pain in the ass to open and close? I use one for a beer cooler and I find the latches screw with me a lot (latch one side the other pops open) but that might be due to overconsumption of the contents..

So can wee see this exo cage?

Still fine tuning some things... Ok, I'm lazy.

Really all I got, spent all my time making these brackets to tie it into the cowl/A-pillar. Whole thing will be body mounted, no frame tie in. An exo lid and interior cage hybrid so I can get some cross bracing and not look like a jungle gym. I still wanted exposed roof bars for sliders and roof rackish.

Only other pic

Why no frame tie in?

Welp... from what I've gathered people suffer serious vibrations by tying the body to the frame rigidly without rubber gaskets like the body mounts and I'd rather have the cage firmly integrated with the body than the frame in case they separated, keeping me and the fam safe.

Interesting, I've never though about it like that. Don't plan to have a cage on my 62, but I want another 62 to beat on, no roof, no lift and caged. Cruisified style.

Little progress today, not my Heep in the background... doing pads and rotors for the MIL.

Got the top bar for the windshield bent (4 bends) but ran out of time to get the ends notched.

I'm going to pull in the rear portion tight to the roof line but need the lateral bracing first, goal is to keep all the tube about .5" off the body.

So, was this for "tree sliders"? Or just more protection for the family?

Absolutely for tree sliders but will also make up the main "halo"

Cool, I'm not a big fan of exo cages, but there are not trees here.

Keep it up, I love your truck..

Actually, it's the panda.. Any panda with a gun deserves respect..

Yeah I'm not a fan either, what you see already will be the only exposed portion except for roof bracing. The uprights and X bracing will all be in cab.

I wanted the tree sliders as we wheels TSF and its all trees plus I got rid of my roof rack in prep for the toobage which I can also mount and lash stuff to.

Sweet. Should be perfect!

If you haven't welded that in yet, did you consider resealing your rain gutters before welding the halo on? It'll be hard to get to afterwards, might be a good idea to do it now.
