Yep, Flathead Pass was a good time. Unfortunately we ran a little low on time and my wife ran a little high on a migraine, so we couldn't do Olsen Creek. But we took the winding route past Bridger Bowl back to Bozeman, and that was plenty scenic. Definitely coming back to this one to do the full loop. Super fun and not too challenging.

Gonna do a trip up Flathead pass tomorrow with the 4Runner and my boss in his RIVIAN.
Meeting at Blue Basket at 10AM.
Anyone is welcome to tag along.

Here are some pics from the Flathead pass trip last weekend.
Perfect weather and lots of views to be had.

The RIVIAN is really an impressive vehicle. When it lifted a tire the driver said he didn't even feel a thing.
Just a tiny wheel spin before the "locker" engages.
The suspension is just so smart and smooth no matter the terrain.
I just hope he never gets it stuck because my lil yota wouldn't be able to do much against the massive weight of 7,150lbs.

@PIZZZZA
what weekend are you thinking for north meadows
I have the following weekends open
August 31st - Sept 1st.
September 14-15 (all though this is the same weekend as the little bear clean up gambler)
September 28-29
All of October is open right now.

you guys understand what you would be signing up for if you follow me up north meadows?

the gate keeper will give you a pretty good idea what you're in for but its the roughest trail i've been on in MT.

my schedule:
14-15 I'm out of town
21st is club BBQ i think
28th is national public lands day so that might be a good day to clean up trash in the AM at the flats then camp out Saturday night drive out Sunday,
October 5th is open
October 12 is pheasant season opener so after that I'm pretty much booked

I have been watching videos of North meadows trail and it looks so fun.
Here is a great video showing some of the spots
Turbo Toyota's wheeling North Meadow In Montana

Definitely need 33s at least and a rear locker. 35s would help though.
October 5th sounds great to me!
Still early enough where we wont have snow and late enough where we shouldn't have bugs at the lake.

Ive done it with 33s and rear locker and destroyed a set of factory skid plates.
I did it locked front and rear and banana'd my gas tank skid plate on a rock in the FJC on the hill to Mcelvy

I did it when i was on 35s in the LX and took body damage, my friend also did on the same spot in her 80 series.

ive been told the swamp is worse. not sure exactly what that will look like.

this video is about 4 years old but not so bad for a general idea but my experience is it was worst then years previous when i did it two years ago.

I not trying to say that people shouldnt come just expect damage and beating on your rig alot. youll slam on the gatekeeper on the way in on one side, and on the other on the way out. and youll use both sliders.

here's a video of a couple of the obstacles

aw heck Aaron, shaggy does it with a stock four runner on 33's with a 3.0. you guys with the big tires are just spoiled lol. next weekend is going to be crazy out here , trying to get a truck built on 42's , has a month to get it done for an unknown trip in an unknown location. wild stuff luckily he just developed a noise in one of the tcases so that's gotta be looked at. he's lucky it happened now and not on the unknown trail

@ttFJC Good to know! It sounds like I will likely want some aftermarket skid plates at the least before beating myself up on this trail.
