about what?

If lets say I did know what your talking about, I would guess my answer would be... the cats not totally out of the bag, not that's its a big deal if the beans where spilled, But its not my say.

Hey can I steal your front driveshaft in the next few days? :wrench:

Good to see your still alive.

(I got my supercharger for my '40 yesterday!)

Ok, it looks like an A440...is it from an 80 or a 62? Any mods to it? Some sort of box....we'll leave that along I guess. And a 60 series split case? 62? Did you have other options? What does it drive like...think the extra slow helps keep things from breaking?

62- but the a440f out of an 80 would bolt up the same way.

nope, pretty much two junk Trans that I made one good one

62 because I had it, little more beef in the 60 tcase

nope.

The thing is awesome on the trail, leave the 4.7 in and just drive. It takes so much of the load off the trans on the trail. I've wheeled the truck pretty hard this summer and I have had no complaints about it. I kinda think the reason I haven't killed a motor mount yet is because it reduced the shockload(?).

Of course this is what I'd say if I knew what you where talking about. but I don't, just guessing

Haven't looked into an 80-A440f I assumed they where the same until 92-93, but I'm not sure. I'd guess the bolt pattern is different on the Tailhousing to tcase on the 80? or are they the same?

That's what I've been trying to figure out for the last few years....but I've never looked at a 62 tranny or t-case so I have no idea. And nobody that would have the answer has given it to me....even when I explicitly ask for it.

I would also want to know if a tailhousing off a 62/A440f would bolt up to a 80/A440f

If they do, you could bolt up a 62 tailhousing/range box/splitcase to a 80/A440

I'll take a picture of a extra tailhousing in a couple days and post it up.

The tail housings are interchangable. the output shafts are different, but also interchangable. So to fit a split case to an 80 a440, you would need a 62 output shaft and tailhousing.

Is the spline count and shaft OD the same?

dunno about the splines, they look similar,

but the 80 spline is short (about 4 inchs long) and the transfer slips over and bolts to the gearbox

the 60 one is about 10 inchs long has the transfer gears on the spline held at the end with a nut.

I havn't got any 60 series ones atm, but i can take a pic of my a440 to show the output shaft

The toybox should work the 80/a440, the shaft needs to be the same od and spline count as the 62/a440.
