yeah, good point...the body of the ram gets mounted to the housing, the rod-portion to the tie rod....the body should stay stationary relative to the axle.
 
so it doesnt matter whow long or what the bracketery looks like as long as the it is strong and the ram is parallel then.

cuz im thinking my bracket might be 5 or so inches off the housing to get the ram parallel.

I tried to limit the amount heat my third saw bc I figured I would melt an internal seal or something.

Like I said I will see if it breaks.
 
Not to get into the stronger, strong enough fight. But I would never weld to a 3rd just for the fact if I break on a trailride, or on a trip. Who is going to have a 3rd set up with the brackes welded to it? Remeber the time I blew my Rear in the Black Hills? I took my front out, and put it in the rear and went on a scenic ride for 1 more day.

good point so i think ime going to go off the housing and fab up some bracket to make it work.
