Factory wire colors may be hard to find. Again make a trip to your local salvage yard. Same goes with hardware and those plastic inserts. Try the same vintage year and don't have to be a Land Cruiser. A lot of hardware superseded to other toyota models. You will be surprised what you can find. I perfer new hardware to keep the original look but as we all know a lot of it is discontinued.

Yeah I am definitely going to have to go and dig around to get some extra parts for this project and for future projects on the rig

Guys and gals -

Slowly diving in and getting things working on my '82 FJ40. Got pretty much everything functional except for the washer pump that mounts on the reservoir. I pulled it all out...quite a few things stood out. Looks like the plug and wiring attached have been moved and bent quite a bit over the years. There are a few kinks with slightly exposed wiring. Also, one of the leads on the pump itself was corroded and the wire was not connected. I was able to get the wiring off of the pump using my soldering iron and plan on cleaning things up to hopefully get everything operational. My main concern is the wires coming out of the plug...I know there is a way to pull the terminals out of the plug which would help in replacing the wires. Any advice?? Prob should have taken more pics of the process. Bought new non-insulated spade connectors and used an unused harness to get close to factory spare wires. Crimped the new connectors on and fed them back into the plug and then resoldered the ends back on to the pump. She works now!
