Has anyone re-finished or painted their Warn locking hubs? Just removed mine as part of some front axle work and was thinking about it.

Not sure I can replicate the factory alloy finish, but was just looking for ideas.

If there are previous threads on this I couldn't find one.

Thanks, those look good, although I probably will try to stick closer to the original colors.

He did mine without any color.

I cleaned mine up without any new color.

You could paint a thin coat of black on the selectors then polish the faces back to the bronze color. It would look correct that way.

These are mine. One before and one after cleaning.

Are you sure that is correct? It appears to me that the entire face of the warn hub is all the same "bronze" polished color. Here's a large image from a brand new pair that is similar to ours:

I assumed that the entire face including the writing was all the same color. If we were really doing a back to OEM restoration, I would think a combination of powdercoat's would be the best deal. One for the bronze, and another for the brushed aluminum or chrome finish.

Yeah, That Aisin color on the Warn Hubs, looks pretty cool.

Not Warn but rebuilt/refinished in original (close) color

Gonna agree with the Aisan combo. Looks like on the Warns yo need to chrome out the outside ring?

I refinished mine with paint I had in the garage. Nothing special. Here is a pic of brand new Warns for a FJ40:

Yeah, that's what I'm probably going to end up doing -- clean and polish first, then paint if needed.
