Thanks to all who helped with suggestions on lifting my winch to the bumper. I ended up making a gantry with two step ladders, a crossbeam, and a manual chain hoist. When I bought the winch on Facebook Marketplace (probably a 1974 from the stamping), the seller said he got a new remote control socket because the original was damaged. However he never wired it up. I have a manual for the winch from the internet, but the schematics are difficult for me to interpret and the illustrations are vague. So I am turning to the Mud community for your expertise. I understand the negative cable from the battery is attached to the underside of the motor housing. I am presuming by the wear on the nut that the positive lead from the battery attaches at the upper left solenoid lug at arrow in picture. There are 3 leads coming out of the remote control socket. The black one and the green one have small eyelets and I presume they connect to the smaller lugs where those color wires exist. The white wire has a larger eyelet. Am I correct in assuming it attaches to the same lug that the positive battery cable attaches to? Thanks for your help. Ted

This pic was taken b4 I took mine apart.
It appears the pic is upside down compared to yours. I hope it helps. My batt attachment is using the lower solenoids stud instead of the top one. My plug is metal with the metal flap. The metal solenoid mounting plate appears to be notched for the batt wire

Thanks for the pictures. This really helps a lot. I just don't want to fry this thing before I find out if it actually works!
