I wasn't sure ware to post this. I figured this section had the most off road only rigs. I want to insure my buggy incase of fire, theft and so on. Do you have suggestions.

Thanks,
Jeff

Who's your current insurer?

I've been calling ALL over the place and no one will touch my rig for fire and theft only. Too modified for the classic car companies, too old for the standard insurers for a stated value policy.

I want to puke everytime I think about it getting stolen, or my house burning with it inside. (NO, it's not covered under most homeowners policies, check yours carefully)

That was killin me as well grogan..

If you can insure yourself against alien impregnation or insure your ass, you can sure as hell insure your buggy.

Holy crap, I finally found someone... Safeco will write the cruiser for just over $40 a month on a $20k stated value policy for comprehensive and liability. adding $2k comprehensive and collision on my trailer is another $13 every 6 months..

Not bad, considering I pay just over $30 a month with Nationwide now JUST for liability, and that's with a multi-car discount.

They're listing the cruiser as a classic/show vehicle. 2500 mile a year limit.

Same story here, I'm with Farmers on all my other vehicles and they won't touch the buggy????

Well, how about that.. Nationwide can suddenly do full coverage on the Cruiser.. I just need to get it appraised. That's cake, since it should be appraised by a shop who specialized in these types of vehicles, and I have a good relationship with one here..

They changed their tune when they realized I was about to drop their asses and they'd lose 4 vehicles and the house.

P.S. Don't forget to put full coverage on your trailer! Only costing me $25 6/months to insure my car hauler.

I'm a Farmers agent... We are very off-road friendly!

Can you help me? All my other cars and trucks are with farmers, but they told me no on the buggy?

Title?????um....nope

Title?????um....nope

You'll need a title.. Most everyone I know, registration or not, have some sort of title for their buggy, even if it's a 1960 Jeep...

Trying to insure a kit car can be interesting.
