For the picture readers and to minimize verbosity.

Two years and untold sum of money, produced:

Capable, refined, and well loved, preferring the soft gentle caresses of limestone and granite:

Her vital organs, currently in cryostasis, preparing to donate her heart to:

A Portuguese VM'd BJ73.

For those unaware, these vehicles bare but a smidgeon of resemblance to the Bd BJs, the worst tragedy, the VM250.

Advertised as a non-runner, which was the only discrepancy, as she does run.....if that's what you can call it.

Converting from VMJ to FZJ73.

No need for utterances of disapproval, as I care not.

Love the 1FZ-FE, have a recently refreshed available, with all new ancillaries, and this particular 73 suits.

Plans:

H151F/HF1A

1FZ-FE MT ECU and harness

Transferring most of the new axles innards from the dead Fo' Fiddy to:

With the exception of diffs:

Thanks to Alberto who drive ten hours, round trip, to pick up.

80 width
Linked on coil overs
Caged
Possible stretch to 106" WB
Possible SC

List as I see it, in order:

Order clutch for H151F.
Pull the VM/H55/ BF1A
Locate and affix the rear cross.
Position 1FZ-FE according to.

All that's possible through normal channels:

Hunting FZJ 7X specific engine brackets, all motor mounts, and cross member.

Plan to stab the engine in and get running, before moving on to the total deconstruction phase.

Weirdest engine I've ever seen, but by no means an aficionado, as it has individual cylinder heads.

Know used in many vehicles imported to Europe, but very little information about BJ applications available online.

12V dual batteries in parallel....that was before Señor Norberto hacked at the wiring, and original source of confusion.

This is downright AWESOME.

Get it going, I'm waiting as fast as I can......

Subscribed to straight-six goodness ;)

Haven't given up on an H55 marriage, but won't be waiting on this.

Think it'll be peppy....but, if not....

I'm waiting as fast as I can......

Me, too, now on Allstate to manually enter the VIN, so I can try to register again, and drive for VIN inspection...rod knock and all.

Question for you.

Is it safe to assume that the short block assembly is ready to run, or should torque and tolerances be checked?

Chris-- You need a new hood insulator and clips.

:)

Oh and I agree with the older gentleman from Albuquerque.

And I bet shipping is going to be cheap!!

Just hope nothing catches a far under hood, since that one has been marinating in diesel for some time.

Mebbe keep for kindlin'??

Oh and I agree with the older gentleman from Albuquerque.

Hear you both.

Lot mo' metal cuttin' to clearance all, but a lot less "re-engineering".

Yeah, shipping these things is NOT cheap. All the carriers weight a light item like this with dimensional weight.

That said, you do have your own account.

;)
