I remember the days when I would work 7 pm to 7 am then get in my 1986 toyota regular cab rust free....28 years ago and drive to Vancouver to hang out with my girlfriend... 10 hours door to door from Mackenzie...

Back when it got really cold, tires would stay flat spot for a few kilometers, before they would get warm enough to get round.

Need a LOWER RAD HOSE for a 13BT. Mine sprung a leak. Anyone on the Island got one?

Yeeeah...I remember when I'd cross the road for tail too...

I had Q78's on my 45...don't think those fxxxin things ever got round...

Might have a used 3b one. Probably the same, no?

In which case, if you need a new one...bend over for mr.t....:flipoff2:

I have two auto kits left, lower upper and waterpump bypass hose.. Nice seeing you today Paul..

Next question. Anyone got a water pump for 13BT? Automatic. I’m staring right at it with the rad out and fan off so might as well replace while we’re at it right :-)

Kurt from CruiserOutfitters is blowing out 7 series water pumps for cheap, couple club members should buy 5 or more to make it worth while..not sure about the fan mount..?

Called Toyota Duncan. Had one in Van. $277. Not cheap, but not stupid and it's OEM. Arriving in the AM.

I admittedly got carried away with other projects on this truck and neglected to plan ahead for this last "big" job of preventing overheating, so I'm paying for it now, but not as bad as if it did overheat and blow the engine, so that's less painful!

Makes sense while you're at it. I spent $56 on a new pump for the same reason... even though the 20 year old reman pump wasn't leaking and still spun smoothly.

The Ford was a different story... it was more like $800 to replace the thermostat, clutch fan, water pump, and hoses... because it was apart :D

On the subject of leaf springs

Sooner than later I'm going to have to buy a set for the 61. (Generally s***ty, with an aggressive lean)

What are the options these days? Emu's of course...any other "kits" out there that don't suck? and where to buy?

Before xmas I stopped into Hub City springs, thinking that they might be cheaper than an emu kit, especially if I was only doing the back end, but they were something like 1400 just for the rear...

A road trip to Utah would be the most fun way to do it but I doubt that'll happen....

I have been looking at rears for my 60. It's getting kinda loaded down, and the bastards that towed from Vancouver
bent my front leaf spring and I think have effected my rear on the one side.
Anyhow, I've looked at different brands, the OME are the nicest riding and essentially cost is equivalent to others.
I got a quote from 4Wheel Auto in Edmonton, that's it. They are expensive and shipping is a non-starter.
Recent enquiries about Alcan springs hasn't been good, and they tend to personalizing to your truck and being
in Colorado again, too much $$$$.
I think Trail Tamer are available from the guys in Washington but the rumor mill has a couple of people not too
happy with durability.
I got my last set of OME from North Shore Off road. I'll be calling them soon. Once I get some numbers I'll let you know.
Check out Cruiser Outfitters, Kurt has a good tech page and sells OME. I'd buy from him, but with shipping/exchange etc
better off to just buy from BC company and realize no hassle, for minimal cost.

It could be worth a call to Canadian Tire and or Lordco. You might be surprised what they can get and it may give you a baseline for pricing. I love to support the little guy but it seems there is no local little guy any longer and those shipping costs are deal killers usually.

I believe I got my ARB bumper from Lordco back in the day and probably tried to take advantage of any price matching policies they had.

I agree about Alcan. It seems they make good springs but everything is custom with them. They need to come up with an 'off-the-shelf' option similar to OME for light, medium, HD etc as a lot of people are put off by having to weight their truck and estimate loads and lift etc...

Lordco is the worst deal going, they buy from NSOffroad and market it up 50 percent. I called to check pricing on Koyo wheel bearings, one bearing was more than my two bearing kit, gaskets and seals. Good news is couple guys in Victoria will be supplying Terrain Tamer parts in the near future..:slap:
