1981 BJ42 Land Cruiser Turbo Diesel - $8900 (Vancouver Island)

Don’t let @Ed Zeppeli chop it up!

Seriously, the only chopping I have planned is for rust removal.

I never quite understood that CanadaListed site. Seems like it aggragates other listings? The seller mentioned a bunch of photos but there is only one. In the past I've tried using it as it comes up in google searches but some of the ads can be years old; hard to tell when there's no date on them.

Anyway, I appreciate it (despite my gripes). I'll dig in and see if it's a current listing.

That yellow one is the old "Moo-tard", the former owner is on this board somewhere and will possibly chime-in about it.
Agreed about that can-listing. Seems they load up on old listings or something. I was searching for a bobcat a while back and everyone of their numbers/emails i called, the items had been gone for years!

Unless current owner just reposted the ad from when he got it from me 5+ years ago, that's from when I sold Mootard. Ok little truck I guess.

Made the mistake of letting the wife pick the colour, it never really grew on me despite building it from frame up.

Don't remember posting it on that site. Last I heard it was in Victoria, looking it's age.

Is it the same guy that you know selling it? Is the current owner a MUD member?

Met Bob prolly 15 or 16 years ago, he was building that truck was having some problems with the 1hz turbo, so he would call me from time to time... he passed away quite some time ago and I am not sure who owns it now..

Last time I saw him was probalby 10 years ago at Pismo..

s***, guess I get to look forward to a bunch more emails from cruiser knobs now...

I'll tell you what....You find one for me that I haven't already seen or that isn't a five year old add and I'll let you make the first cut with that 2-stroke Stihl bad-boy.

Oh, and there will be beers. :D

That'd be @seapotato 's unless someone is reselling it using his add.

I believe a reasonable offer on this would be - 'I'll pay for the towing to take it away from your driveway.' 'Oh, Keith!.....'

Ha, have you met landcruisers?

"vintage barn find, sell for big money when restored" Etc.

Every piece of s*** we used to pay 500 bucks for is 5k now.

If he gets back to me before I go home to sleep, I might go have a look. The dents don't bother me, just the usual rust bs.

Course, I may value that nap more than looking at a s***ty Toyota when 7am comes around.

I went and checked it out a few weeks ago. Price is coming inline with a parts truck. Been painted a few times. Body feels like paper mache. Didn't crawl under to check frame.

Sounds about what I expected. Seller got back to me but didn't give an address, so I went home.

Driving to vic after a graveyard shift to look at a rusted 40 seemed like a much better idea a 1am than it did at 7 anyways:lol:
Only reason I considered it is working in duncan= halfway.

I'll give it a week. Jims driveway is closer...:flipoff2:
