Turn the water off to the heater core. Even when not using the heater that sucker leaks hot air like crazy. Call one of those NASCAR shops and get their advice. They are able to keep Dale Jr. cool somehow.:)

Has anyone used this quiet ride stuff? ☝️☝️

Heater shut off valve plus a layer of Reflectix under my floor mats has definitely cut a lot of heat from entering my cab. Still toying with the idea of adding a school bus fan for some direct cool air though. Wish I had done these mods years ago instead of suffering for a couple decades... live and learn. 🥵

He is O.P. so he gets a pass....😂

After my shoes soles melted off, I make extra heat shields that had about an inch of air gap. No more melting of shoes of hot feet.

Had the same heat issue... found heater valve on block was not shutting off. Was scared to take valve out from block as been there 51 years so added in another valve, a pec 5/8 inch ball valve, problem solved , as no hot water thru heater hoses at all till next winter

Hahaha. I decided to suck it up for 10’yrs. turns out in my 40’s I care more than I did in my 30’s about the hot foot!
thanks for the pass

Wait another 20 years like me and it will feel hotter too! But I do have something, besides long pants and closed shoes when driving it. On my 43 it does make a big difference when I open the windows. With the cabin totally closed, yes it gets hot but I can drive it with Tevas. If I open the windows, I can feel the heat increase quite a bit down by the footwells. So my brain is thinking the higher pressure with cabin all enclosed reduces the heat air flow, and just the radiant heat off the metal remains.

I wouldnt add anything I can't remove from the floor, since they will get wet, and can trap moisture and increase rusting speed. But Tractor Supply has the 1/2" stall mats that are good sound and heat insulators, stay in place by gravity as they are heavy, but come off easily to dry off after a storm or giant puddles at Uwharrie. For the price they are a great deal, added them to the whole rear floor and under the seats. Can be easily cut with box cutter too.

I also have the Vintage Air, its coolish, but not cold.

Was cleaning the truck today, took out carpet and got a pic of my setup with the Tractor Supply 1/2" thick stall mat. These sit there just by gravity. Over the transmission hump it’s a few pieces, like a puzzle, held by gorilla tape. Footwell is one piece, with the underside sliced where it bends. Easy to remove to dry, and does dampen the noises. On the driver side, the small vertical piece is the one that keeps the heat off my leg. On top of the transmission tunnel, I made holes under the mat for the bolt heads, so the mat is flat.

Anyway, for under $30 worth of rubber mat, it was worth a shot and seems to be doing well.
