I am in the process of rebuilding my pig. I am stripping all the paint and I am about ready to do the doors. My front door vent window rubber is pretty bad as is the rear door rubber for the fixed glass. I have searched coming up with nothing. Does toyota still have this stuff or is it being made aftermarket? I will post some pics later

I mean the small windows that are fixed in each of the doors to the back seat

I take it that by lack of respones from you guys that these are not available?

You picked the two pieces that are the least available. Neither the wing vent nor the rear door fixed window rubber are to be found anywhere. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. We're all in the same boat. I suppose that you could swap the early doors for later doors that didn't have the wing vents. Anyone know if the doors would fit the same?

Nope - top of the door is different at the window frame :frown:

I belive you can swap out any door up to a 76. All pigs before then had the pointed winshield frame. And every thing after 77 had the rounded windshield frame. I asked a similar question earlier and surfpig dug up this thread for me by Ben.

Doors up to mid 77 are the same in terms of fitment, ie the top front corner is angular and not curved, so they will bolt it.

Cargo window w/s is availible IIRC from PVcruisers, so get some. He has tailgate upper w/s too.

Vent window w/s might be next on his list if people buy enough of his existing product-no reason to spend time and money developing an less needed w/s if the covers all years stuff like the tailgate w/s isnt flying off the shelf. I can tell you that his upper tailgate w/s is beautiful!- way better quailty than the left over OEM stuff and 2 decades newer rubber means it will last longer too.

I just ordered the PV Cruiser stuff, I can't wait to check it out. I need wing vent rubber too. Hopefully they will turn their attention to it soon. In the meantime, I am hoping places like JC Whitney will have materials or something that can be made into it. All my tail light rubber and marker light rubber is messed up to. Need to work on that as well.

My attention is on both of those items. In fact, I have CAD drawings now ready to be made into steel tooling for both items. But, none of W/S items have been big sellers and it has been tough to justify the capital expense....

Not trying to cry in my beer, just trying to be honest. The tooling for each unique piece is at least $5k. Meaning a left and right front wingwindow costs $10k alone in tooling.... Factor in D&D and inventory:doh:

Buy Troopys or Pickups or that stickin BJ-70 from me and that will help expedite the '55 W/S :grinpimp:

Thanks for all the support from the board. I appreciate your business.
