Hello,

Just purchased a 2019 VDJ79 GCC spec. The truck did not have a tachometer.

I looked up the part number for the Tacho equipped dash and it looks like 83800-6BT20 is the correct part number for that.

The gauges that came out of my 79 has a part number of 83800-6BT00.

Wanted to verify the part number for tach equipped VDJ7X and check where to buy it. Checked dealers and online. Strange that they all tell me it's discontinued yet it's a brand new truck? How do you make something and discontinue it at the same time?!! very strange.

Any pointers would be appreciated. I need tacho more than speed.

This is what I have

Why not just fit an aftermarket tacho? You can get some small discreet types. Do you have the tacho pick up sensor or does it come from the computer?

Most markets only have one tank with the 2nd as an option. Australia has had 2 as standard since 95
I'm under the impression that my Ute has a Saudi heritage and it has two tanks.

As I said its an option in most markets. You have to order it.

They are suited with a sightly bigger tanks now .. 130L ..

to the OP .. I also have a GCC VDJ and found several parts not available, discontinued which seems to be weird too ..

take a look on MegaZip - Genuine OEM Parts From Japan, USA, UAE | Online Store

I found have more available parts than partsouq and others ..

Yes but I think the cavity is still there to add an aux tank.

@LandCruiserPhil ...... Is this the actual photo of the instrument cluster on the Cruiser that you drove and if so
was one of the fuel gauges simply inactive?

Great eye and yes you are correct. The factory rear tank was replaced with a 180lit and the clip on the plug was broke and once I figured it out I zip tied the plug.

Hello,

What about sourcing one from a VDJ76 or from a wrecker?

The 79s we get come with dual tanks. Gas or Diesel. But it has to be a single cab.

The tach equipped models were all gas variants. including the DC models.

There are a few 79 single cabs that are gas but without tach but those are really few. (Like the one pictured above).

The non models were mostly diesel variants, which if you think about it. The Tach is more important than speed on these trucks.

I hooked up my HP Tuners to mine and was reading tach off the laptop. So The sensors and everything is there. I just need to source a new dash that has tach.

I could add a gauge with tach but where is the fun in that.

The junkyards would have a similar equipped LCs

I could source a complete dash out of Australia but would need to compare pin-outs. The GCC spec 79s came with 3 plugs in the back of the cluster.

Anyone know what the difference is between these part numbers?

83800-6BT10

83800-6BT20

Would one be with Tach and the other not?

Neither mention the tacho but one mentions the aux tank. Both show tank guages and tacho in the diagram. Mystery

If I'm understanding correctly you can either have a tach or a dual fuel indicator but not both?
