I saw this lift kit for sale locally: Fj cruiser used lift kit.

The guy bought the FJ with it installed and had it removed to put a different kit on- doesn't know how many miles are on it.

Is there a way to check how "worn" the shocks and springs are? Does the FJ use the same springs as the GX and considering that the FJ is lighter? Could I just replace the bushings and bolt the front set onto my GX? Should I stop being a cheapskate and stop browsing CL while drinking?

Thanks all!

I would pass...

Unknown rear springs + what looks like stock FJ Cruiser front springs...along with used Bilsteins w/increased pre-load + strut spacers = Not what you want.

A full set of new Bilsteins is what, $400? ToyTec rear springs, another $200. Sure that's twice as much...but it's all new.

Either way you'll need a rear spring conversion of some sort, as well.

My $0.02

I wouldn't run a spacer lift at all. Used can be okay, but aim for something higher up the food chain.
