I don't see an issue. You're just helping a friend out, that's all. 😁

Great Haul!

That’s the truth! He said he needs the $ for a lift in his shop! And the space too!

Another EPIC trip folks, thanks for joining and contributing to its success. Several things went our way on this trip, least of which was the fantastic weather. As some of you may know, this is a very exposed trail so the sun/wind can really do a number on you. We had light cloudy days and light breeze most of the time. Another thing that worked out well for me was the great radio comm we experienced. It was easy to hear the tailgunner all day and no wrong turns took place.

Steve took us to the Castle Valley overlook on our last night's camping and that was a treat. We had to head home Sun for Mon work routine so we weren't able to meander our way back from Castle valley through the Sand Flats trail system back into Moab.

Ron was able to join us in his red Taco as he was heading to SLC to get his fandangle new camper shell installed. He was able to catch up to us at Castle Valley for one night of campout.

Seeing Pappy in our rearview mirrors doing 75mph took some getting used to.

Hoorah pass was mayhem as it was a saturday. We passed by a Tundra that turtled itself on a rock, and it was hooked up to two winches as we rolled by.

We pulled into CM'24 HQ sat after getting off the trail and it was pretty deserted. We drove around the campground, trying to see if I recognized anyone but lots of folks left already by then.

No serious carnage to report, other than the usual white marks we all have. Pappy had a brief no start situation while getting gas in Farmington that was due to a bad female spade connector. Ron's rear diff skid plate got reshaped when his Tundra rested on a rock. My 80 had a weird air/fuel mixture issue while climbing up to Castle valley overlook, around 7k elevation. The exhaust was very hot, which might've been due to running rich and the cat converter trying to catalyze the unburned fuel. Engine stalled as I pulled over to inspect, but restarted easily. We did smell rotten egg smell during these events, but everything was back to normal the following day on our way home. I need to figure out the cause. Gabe had a puncture which was repaired quickly. Dennis' milktruck performed flawlessly. Nothing is sexier than hearing a nice V8 exhaust going down the trail, I tell you what!

We made it our mission to save all four of Ron's mud flaps, and we succeeded. Kudos to Ron on navigating that yacht down the trail succesfully.
We also coined the term "overlunchers" and "overlunching". 😁

I have been bugging Ali to lead a Lockhart Basin run for probably 3-4 years. I'm sure glad I did. Also, as far as "overlunchers," I fixed it for ya.

I added a few pics.

Amazing pictures Johanna! Thanks for taking all of those! I will work on adding the ones I took.

I'm so glad she was the designated photographer for this trip, and she enjoyed the walking/pics taking. I'll let her know Ron.

There should be this disclaimer in the vids:

No mud flaps were injured in making these videos.

I wanted to dissect this pic a bit. This is the Tundra that turtled itself on Hoorah pass (optional side obstacle) and notice there doesn't appear to be a front recovery loop from the factory. The front winch had to be connected to what I think is the lower control arm, but not 100% sure. There is also a second winch cable connected to the rear bumper.

Yeah it looks like they have their line running back behind the typical recovery point location. I wonder if they would have been better off trying to jack the front of the truck up and winch / pull that boulder out from under the truck then try to pull it back up ledge. I wonder how they got it sorted out?

Here's the new camper. I'll be looking for some guidance from the crew here soon, I need to fabricate some Sceptor Can holders for the side. I'll make a post about it soon once I get to that project.

Ron, does you camper pop strait up or flip forward. Looks good!

I built some fuel can carriers for my truck just before the trip. By built I ordered some surplus Jerry can mounts and modified them to fit my setup.

Joanna did take some great pictures, thanks for that and helping me document the Milk Trucks first real wheeling trip.

Thanks to Ali for organizing and leading. Thanks to Steve for leading us to our camp spot above Castle Valley. The views were great!

I was impressed by Ron’s ability to drive his Tundra down the trail largely unscathed except for pin stripping. Gabe as well for piloting the most primitive truck on the trip without and issue besides a tire puncture.

I felt like it was a great trip and appreciated the company and all of you who came out. After I split off to Durango to camp I decided to just continue on home after stopping for some Tacos that Ron talked up. They were pretty tasty.

I had a great time and am looking forward to the next trip.
