@Racer65 : could you post the actual web address of your store? When I click on the link in your signature, my browser consistently tells me it's a no-go. Thanks!

It works fine for me, but here is the link: Shutterfly

Ok , wow .
Yeah , no wonder no one makes that lamp as a reproduction - had no idea the shroud could rotate freely . That base is definitely a no-go , probably the shroud as well since it would have to be a pretty tight tolerance fit to work correctly . The only quick way is to use tubing and weld a ring to it from the inside with the tig - making a press die to fold that is far too much time/money to invest for me .

is it just me, or does anybody else go to roger's site and just drool over everything he has accomplished in making these unobtainable parts and his ability to find "unicorn" parts? i know i have spent a few paychecks with him and will continue to do so. his products are incredible.

thank you roger.

I'll get it boxed up tonight, and on it's way tomorrow!
Greatly appreciated! Can you assemble the light so that I can see how the various bits go together?

I will try to make the whole unit. The internal parts may not be identical, but the goal is to make it look the same when installed on the dash. I assume most of you will want to use LED light bulbs, so that's a consideration. Plan B is to make the cover only.

Roger has been great to me as well. As I continue to learn my 40, I will continue to come back to his site!!

Here's something for those who either want to do a 5 speed conversion or have a 5 speed FJ40. These inspection covers are replicas of OEM, with the raised section. Two styles will be offered. The first style replaces your existing '79+ cover. It provides extra clearance for the 5 speed transmission, and you can cut holes based on where you need it. The second style is a direct replacement cover for a FJ40 that originally came with a 5 speed.

These covers are made in Japan. As you can see the quality is quite impeccable.

Any options for '78 and earlier?

Those of you checking the store site in recent days will find that more than a few items are tagged as out of stock. It's the result of postponing a restock to allow a couple of special order items to join the next shipment. A customer had requested some original Koito head lamps if you can believe it. The order was place months ago and I'm surprised it got filled. I'm anxious to see what these things look like. I ordered a few extras to keep in stock just because I don't think I'll ever have these again. All I know is that one type of light is white and another type is amber.

where was the darth vader light when I needed one for my pretend FST! heck the replacement wiring harness even had the wire for it...

@Racer65 the round overflow tank is listed on your website as 76-78. Is it the same as a 75?
I think you're right. I was going by part # 16402-61011 on ToyotaPartsDeal, but after checking ToyoDIY I realized there is another part number (16402-61010) for 1975 that was superceded by the 61011 part #.
This is why we need a parts guy like @beno. All these ancient part #'s confuse me!

Sorry, those looked like tranny tunnel covers - am I dreadfully mistaken?
It's probably just terminology. It's the cover plate on top of the trans hump. For example, here's the photo of an '83 from the internet:

You're just not used to the later tub where a bunch of what you think of as tunnel cover is part of the floor.
