Hey Guys I'm Jason and own UnderDawg Fab Worx. I've been in the 80 series side of things but will soon have a customer dropping his 100 off at my shop to design and fabricate a new bumper system with skid plate options and a newly designed roof rack system. I'm new to 100 series so I may be asking for your input, please feel free to chime in with reasonable suggestions and comments. I appreciate the open forum style of design work. All details will be put here along with any alterations in design and final product.

Look forward getting to know some of you and feel free to PM me your questions.

Jason

^^^Yes, need something new and different.

How will the front bumper work with the front air bag system? Do you have plans to keep that active? I would love to see a fresh new design.

I'd love to see another "non-ARB-copy" option for the 100 - beyond the Blueberry. The ARB/TJM/Ironman style is pretty much covered.

I like the looks of your 80 bumper but would like the smaller bar setup like the 80 Slee bumper. I was close to ordering a Slee but will hold out to see what you are coming up with.

Do you plan on making a two piece design or one piece?

I have to say I like the design you made for the 80s, including the bottle opener. Are you planning something similar for the 100?
Thank you sir!! Yes I do plan on making a similar design for the 100 as well. There will 2 designs minimalist and full sized.

Thats the million dollar question isnt it? We're gonna go as deep into this as possible. As with all off-road intended equipment there maybe a disclaimer previous to purchase. We'll see what is takes, I'm confident that we can find a solution. Stay tuned.

Make one similar to this and I'll buy it (as will quite a few others) ;)

LOL that's funny you show that particular picture... I really like the way that bumper integrates with the truck. Looks especially clean.. but I can see room for a little improvement. It will be similar is some ways.

Outstanding sir. Well we'll see what we can come up with, I think you guys are gonna be pleasantly surprised.

I'm in... been thinking of getting a new bumper...:bounce2::popcorn:

This is close to the one Tucker posted except for the bolt-on wings under the fender which would not be strong enough. I like the look and things could be added to the design to suit the buyer.

Curiosity piqued...

It is exactly the same as Tucker posted, the gaskets were left out. The bumper as a whole is very lightweight and all about the style and clearance not strength.

It would be really cool if you could close the gap we get from a body lift! 1 - 1.5" body lift seems to be the most common. Really like your work, thinking I need a roof rack here soonish...

+2. The body lift gap is an ugly issue no brand out there has done anything to correct!

I don't really like the square kind of look fighting against the round body lines of the truck! Felt tempted to go out and build my own but I think family is a bigger priority so I'm still waiting to find something that protects and looks good.

Something along the lines of blueberry with bars following the body and headlight lines. Slee's 80 series bumper adapted to the 100 as well.
Not saying to copy it, just pointing out my preferences.

looking at the 80 series you did I notice the winch is bolted on with the feet down and not forward. I thought the correct way was the feet to the front so there is less stress on the bolts.

Just went and checked out your 80 series bumper build and I like it! Very interested to see how you bring that to the 100.

That depends on the style of winch. An upright winch (like a Warn 8274) is mounted "feet forward" but most winches are mounted feet down.

I'm stoked too guys. I may need to call on someone else in Northeast Ohio that has a 100 series they can live without for about a week. Hit me up with a PM or call the number in my sig 8am-8pm est. If I get a loaner that person would only pay 1/2 for the a bumper and rack.

Let me know guys.

Jason
