I tend not to bloviate or find fault till I start investing in a project for what thats worth.:crybaby:

You talking to me? LOL

The OP was soliciting feedback, and I tried to provide some constructive help before he had everything completely burned-in. Tack welds are easy to cut, and reworking a few shapes at this point is still easy to do....

So this bumper is a one off and you don't plan on offering it?

I do, I guess I shouldn't have said that. I have all the templates and can definitely reproduce it. I went all out on this one to show my skills in geometry and welding . If your interested in one PM me and we can talk. I will be producing another 100 series bumper for production soon.

Hey UnderDawg, I don't mean to point this out (okay, I really do mean to point this out...) but benc's post "Winch Bumper" who's building a bumper also, was started 9 days after your initial post (your first post was Dec 1, his was Dec 10) of building your bumper and he has already completed his project with different types of guards and stingers available to boot! All we've seen so far on this build is some cardboard cut-outs and metal plates tacked together.

I guess the short question is: Where's the bumper??

I know it's not a contest (otherwise you'd be buying the beer ) but just how is it going?
I admit the pic's of your left front plates that are tacked together do have nice lines. :)

Wow. Don't take this wrong but rough crowd. Lol. ;-)

This looks a lot better than the cardboard cutouts:

But I also agree with what @maxse01 said, the corners do seem to stick out pretty far. You say it's only 2-3 inches but I think that's a pretty far way to stick out from the body. Personal preference, maybe, but I still like the direction this thing is headed.

More pics on here please! :bounce:

I started this bumper a week and 3 days ago... and also if you read the thread you'd see I direct you to my Facebook page for most of the up dates on this build. I'm to busy to update 4 different threads and sites. As for the sticking out bits and pieces, I'd say lets see what it looks like when coated. I think it will look smaller when less shiny. As I said in my last post I'll be making another for a production bumper. Cheers

I look forward to seeing the difference!

Edit: I walked out to my truck this morning and noticed that the corners of Slee's bumper look to stick out about as far as yours. Not sure why it looks weird in the photos but your newest photos (one post down) make it look badass!

Dude! Looks great!

Looking forward to the paint :hillbilly:

Check my edit a couple posts up

I'm liking it. Looking forward to the completed pics.

Check my Facebook page for final vids on the build. Just shy of 2 weeks from conception to finished product. I'll post up some pics here in a couple mins. This is the last day of my 20%off sale on all I make. These bumpers will be sold for $1200.00 20% off makes them the best deal around. I might extend that for a few more days if I can get 5 guys to commit. I'll be using a guy from MUD to plasma cut all my steel for me so things will be very efficient. But I'd like to bring him 5 bumpers to cut for me as he lives about an hour and a half away. Let me know guys. All my contact info is in my sig. Thanks so much.

So is this your production bumper or are you making another model?

I can make that particular bumper again but will be creating another for production. It would be a little more than the quoted price above. Although the plasma guy says he can also cut about half way making a brake point. So that all I would have to do is bend and weld the inside. This would be excellent!! So possibly I could make that bumper again for less money. I would really like to be around $1100.00 for my price point . I just have so much expense and time in the way I've been going about it. But I'm learning as I go and keeping an open mind while reading and trying every thing I can. It's quite an enjoyable craft. There's honesty in the steel.

Nice welds! Good penetration on your beads! Should be DASMPH (deer at 60 mph) strong!
I know you are probably hammered with many request for photos, but if you could do some good 'ol fashion police type photos, you know, front, left, right, all lined up, that would really help get an idea of perspective. That one shot in the driveway for some reason looks a little skewed.
Nice thing is with all that snow an your black bumper, you should be able to see a lot of detail!

Here's a few more. Check out the vids on my Facebook page. I have some real close ups of the entire bumper. The vid I posted yesterday at the powder coaters shop shows the details and angles you may be looking for. Dont forget to like and all that goofy stuff. I still haven't figured out what that does exactly but everyone else thinks its important so.... :D

Good stuff man. I know this one was labor intensive and you didn't need anybody to tell you so. The customer gets a awesome bumper that nobody else has yet and you stuck to the plan while taking the hits from this forum.

Looking forward to the next build as I followed all your work on the 80-series too.

Yeah, no kidding.....

From now on when someone around here asks for input or feedback, I'll interpret that as:

"Please stroke my ego and tell me I am a fabrication God....and every aspect of my design is impeccably conceived and rendered"

If that's what the OP really wanted people to do, then please accept my sincere apologies. Didn't mean to crap up your thread.... The bumper looks nice.
