Next question. I have not purchased a 2nd fire extinguisher for the passenger side yet. I like the nb300 mount, the question is which fire extinguisher. Do I get another h3r or do I get a cheapie in case of roadside fire, etc. I like the safecraft but at 350 it's a little out of my price range.

SafeCraft has no benefit over the H3R other than esthetics. Its beautiful. But at the end of the day its still just Halon/Halotron. For me, I am just running two H3Rs in the front and in the back I currently have a dry chemical cheapy one that I will eventually switch over to either a foam or another Halon.

Yea it's really nice looking. I have been very happy with my red h3r. Probably will just get another. And keep a cheap one under the seat or in the back that I can get to in less of a hurry if needed.

Oh there *might* be something to make mounting it in the back coming up...maybe ;)

Wanted to share what the Locking Lid will most likely look like. I'm playing with a few last minutes things but I'm hopeful. Trying to finish up the files to send off to the metal shop asap.

Would the spring hold open assist work with these lids like you plan for the center console box?

I would like to have all of my lids open assist as it just makes things nicer to work with when you don't have to use one hand to hold it open or use your arm to keep the lid open. I can't promise the utilization in either lid as I don't have all of the details back yet but it's what I'm striving for. Im trying to give you guys the best of the best.

**UPDATE**

I have two bits of news, both are good and bad...I suppose, from your points of view.

1. The metal shop is having an outside shop produce the die for me because of their backlog. Their outside shop wants an extra 10 days to produce the die. This basically pushes all of the production for the lids (Lock Box and FEM) back at least a week. I wanted them to at least do the LockBoxes so I can get those started but they said no because they are doing all the 14gauge jobs all at one time so they aren't going to split up their production for me.

2. Just heard back from the hinge manufacturer. I can get the hinge with the spring open AND cut to size which is great because it means I get what I want, I don't have to cut anything myself and then finish the edges, I can give you guys a feature you weren't even expecting and the price isn't horrible since I'm purchasing enough to get all the hinges for all the models of LockBoxes that I am planning to produce. The bad news is there is a three week leadtime. I am trying to work with them to see what can be done to reduce that timing but so far that is where its at.

So yes I do unfortunately need to push back the delivery date BUT I really do think its for features worth having. If this is an issue for anyone please please let me know and I will refund because I don't want to hold up your cash without giving you product in return any longer than I absolutely need to.

On the flip side it also means I will have everything I need ahead of time to produce the LX Lock Box, the early 80s/62 Lock Box and even the 60 Series Lock Box. Still working out the details on the 100 Series LockBox.

Thoughts? Please speak your mind. I'm all ears.

Joey

Lookie what I just picked up!

Wanna see what $2500 of Medeco Locks look like? Ouch :(

The singles, the dual keyed-alike, the multiple keys, etc.

The pieces are all coming together.

They all have their own little cubby?

Gnarly fire over here by me. Fire hit the 5frwy and burning cars on the frwy. Watching people on the news trying to put out other people's cars that are catching. Do you have your extinguishers yet????

Holy crap. People trapped on the frwy. Fire dept telling people to leave their cars because fire is at the frwy. So crazy.

Nothing major to update but just wanted to make sure we are all on the same page. Status:

* lock box and lid in queue for production
* FEM lid, hinge bracket and can lock in queue for production
* all Medeco locks in house and ready for final installation
* 5" and 12" spring hinges ordered and just counting down the days
* spot welding station setup and ready to go
* tumbling and powder coating is ready to go
* Laser etching final still needs to be decided.
* still need to decide if I do incremental serials
* waiting on new rubber liner sample for the LockBox floor
* still trying to decide on material for LockBox walls
* Cargo liners for FEM are in production
* still need to order bushings for the offset but I'm waiting til I get a first article lock box to test with
* may need to order new hold down hardware but waiting to test with first article.
* shipping boxes have been ordered.

I still need to decide on the final design of the Cargo Panel before I pull the trigger on having a bunch made. My guy only needs a week to make them so I'm trying to push it out as long as I can in case I change my mind on the design. So far I have twice :(

Well I suppose it's about time to get some feedback. This attaches to the FEM via Velcro and I'm playing with different strengths. The military grade may be too much for this application especially since it won't ever get direct sunlight. But still testing.

I removed a notch to clean the Medeco cam lock so no more potential binding. I added Velcro to the back of it where it will attach to the new hinge cross bar support. I also added in a pocket along the long end but since it needs to be so shallow I can imagine it's usefulness.

What are your thoughts before I go into production on these?
