Tundra's are more "American" than some domestic brand trucks in the same class. 100% built in USA, by the fine folks of Texas. It's the only place Tundra's are built (iirc).

We're not going to make this trip.I so wanted to get out this weekend, but its not in the budget after getting smacked with a fine from the APD for honking at an arrogant, law breaking cyclist.
So decided not to clutter the BRP thread...
I got stopped a few weeks back down by GA State Univ. for honking and then passing a cyclist. The cop apparently wanted make a big deal out of it and pulled me over and then two other patrol cars show up - lights flashing and all.
The arrogant cyclist had just passed me on the left side of my truck and almost tagged my bumper because I didn't see (or expect) him. I honked my horn and he looked over his shoulder and gave me a big s***-eatin grin. Then as we approached the next intersection, he continued in front of me right in the middle of the lane. He kept looking over his shoulder and weaved back and forth, slowing down more and more. I was in the middle of the intersection now, and laid on my horn. After the intersection, the east bound traffic opens up into two lanes, so I got over to the left as soon as I could and then passed him. I got back into the right lane and kept going. The cop charged me with reckless driving. The cyclist also stopped but the cop talked to him for about 10 seconds and let him go. Before he cited me, he had one of the other cops come over and ask me what happened again. It was all about looking good in front of the GSU crowd - because he kept saying things like "how does it look to all those students back there, if I don't pull you over?" I said what about the cyclist not sharing the road and passing me on the outside and cutting me off. He was the one endangering himself. Honking my horn was not endangering anyone, just letting cyclist know that he was being a jerk.
Anyway, didn't fight it, paid it and pleaded nolo. $500 and no points. So much for wheeling this weekend.

Separate incident, cyclist passed me as I was turning left (on the left side of me!) and I said thru my open window - how about you obey the laws like everyone else. His reply: Fxxx you.

As someone who used to bike a lot (a whole heck of a lot) it kills me to see cyclists on the road doing dumb a$$ things. It puts all cyclists in danger further down the road, not just the DA one in front of you.
Remember, this is coming from a former cyclist who raced competitively. A few years ago in Travelers Rest I was stopped at the light beside McDonalds going across to the WalMart side. A group of about 15, maybe more, cyclists came up behind me when I was the only car stopped at the light. They were in a pack in the middle of the lane which was a good way to ride at a stop light to cross a busy intersection as a group for protection. Bikes don't have bumpers so any collision between a vehicle and a bike, no matter who is at fault, is going to be lost (very badly I might add) by the cyclists. Riding en mass like that makes it easier for the group to be seen, and hopefully not hit by a vehicle.
So DA #1, 2 and 3 (all appeared to be teenagers and the youngest in the group), decide to ride past me and get in front of my vehicle, effectively splitting the cyclists group. This mean they 3 bikes in front of me would slowly cross, I would have to put along behind them, and then the mass group of cyclists would have to cross behind me = bad ju ju. I put the vehicle in park, and lectured them like they were little children who spilled their milk on purpose. I berated them about how dangerous they were acting, and coming from another cyclist, they were putting every other cyclist on the road in danger. I usually don't pop like that but I did. The adult cyclist in the rear of my vehicle then joined in with me and made the youngsters return to the pack. At least the youngins hung their head as they rode back past me and apologized. The light then turned green, I crossed, and the pack of cyclists crossed together en masse, safely.
And I don't give a rat's patookie if the officer was worried about what the students would 'think.' Now the students think it's OK for a cyclist to break the law, be a DA, and it will always be the driver's fault.

I'm so glad I live where I do. Having no stoplight a in town does have its benefits.
I have no words...but with the 50+ bike packs that ride out where I live I understand the frustration. Sorry Rick!
I commuted on a bike for three years when I was in school averaging 5K miles a year. I know how to act on a bike.
Try living in Asheville, some cyclist act like the law doesn't apply to them, especially on some of the "twisties" that motorcyclists and bicyclists share a passion for. I had a bicyclist pull out in front of me on the MC when we both could have "shared" the lane easily. It was on the BRP and a ranger got bent out of shape b/c I passed him without leaving my lane... It could be worse...
Try avoiding bikers in Manhattan...they are insane.
